Who WE ARE

Scenic Catering AGwas founded by Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours in 2016. Our Headquarter is located in Zug Switzerland. Our goal is to operate the Scenic fleet with the best resources available. When we talk about resources we mean people. We are committed to finding and nourishing the best new talents in the industry.

Scenic’s route to global success started in 1986 with coach tours operating throughout Australia. Over the years new markets have been discovered and developed. A new historic chapter commenced in 2008 as Scenic took on the exciting world of river cruises. Since then Scenic has continued to grow the Scenic Space-Ship fleet and today we have a grand total of 20 ships sailing across the rivers of Europe including, the Rhine, Main and Danube, the French rivers, the Douro river in Portugal.

infoRmAtion

Our operating season is typically 7-8 months, starting in late March and ending by early November. Some of the ships will also sail during the holiday season, crew can sign up for those cruises if they wish to have additional income.

Employed by a Swiss contract and / or contract as required by sailing region (French, German)

Health and accident insurance when on board and when on vacation

Contributions to pension fund paid by employer

Employee is responsible for arranging and pay of transportation to and from the ship (exception: employees from Asia. Company takes care of travel arrangements).

Upon successful completion of the contract and depending on the employee’s position, employer reimburses travel expenses up to 700 EUR per season.

Travel expenses in connection with training/ kickoff meeting are reimbursed by the employer separately.

Depending on position, a minimum of 6 - 8 days of vacation per month will be accumulated.

During the season, Scenic offers 2 vacation periods for each crew member, paid pro-rata according to the basic salary.

Vacation schedule is prepared at the beginning of the season.

Crew breakfast is typically served in the crew mess (or as otherwise instructed by the Hotel Manager).

The rest of your meals will be served in the restaurant together with mineral water, tea or coffee.

Mineral water will also be available complimentary while you are on duty.

You will be living in state-of-the-art, multiple bed cabins with en-suite shower/ toilet, tv/radio etc. You will need to keep your cabin clean and orderly. You can have sheets and bath towels changed regularly according to the agreement with the housekeeper. Your laundry is washed free of charge on-board.

Scenic offers its employees a Swiss contract and / or contract as required by sailing region (French, German)with paid benefits in Switzerland on top quoted salary amounts.

This means your quoted salary represents the net amount and no other deduction will be made. Scenic will never deduct any cost such as meals and accommodation. Salary payment is done every month into the employee’s bank account of choice.
