STEEPLE PHOTOS

If you made a donation to the Steeple Fund in the past few months and requested a photograph of it, the pictures have arrived. Please contact the office to make ar-rangements to pick up your copy.

We will not have Children’s Worship during the summer months. Worship bulletins tailored for children are available at the Wel-

come Center. Children’s Worship will resume August 11th.

Jack and Ada recently moved to Knoxville from Tampa, Florida. Jack retired from American Airlines after a career as a ground crew trainer. Ada taught kinder-garten before their daugh-ter was born but as Jack’s work required the family to move frequently to different areas of the country, she became a stay at home mom and raised their daughter. Now retired, they both enjoy cooking and min-istering to those in need, volunteering at our local Salvation Army.

They have one daughter, April, who lives in the Chica-go area and one grand-daughter, Angelique.

Women on Mission will not meet during the month of July; however, we will have a mis-sion project for the month. We’d like to en-courage folks to continue to bring in the Crayola crayons and markers requested by the Fountain City Ministry Center for their backpack ministry. The next Women on Mis-sion meeting will be held on August 13th.

The Nominating Committee is hard at work looking for people to fill vari-ous Committee positions for the upcoming year. God has blessed us at Smithwood with a lot of talented people, and He wants us to share those talents with His church to further His Kingdom. If you are asked to serve, please prayerfully consider it and ask God’s guidance and will. There are several committees that do not have a term limit: Baptismal, Pre-School and Children's Ministry Teams, Counting and Offering, Decorating, and Food and Fellowship. If you are on one of these committees and wish to come off, please let a member of the Nominating Committee know. Nominating Committee members are Kenneth Haynes, Teresa Cooper, Bob Lay, Sheila Sharp and Charlotte Walton. In addition to our regular committee slots, we are in particular need of van drivers to drive our new van and nursery workers. A clean driving record is required to drive the van; nursery workers will need to have a background check. Please see a committee member if there is a particular area in which you wish to serve. Thank you.

In His Service, Kenneth R. Haynes Nominating Committee Chair
