There are various types of
Scholarships available to North
Surrey Secondary Students
Applications for these scholarships will be made available in 2022!
The following 4 slides will outline the various types of
scholarships available for North Surrey Secondary
students with application submissions through the
Career Centre. At this time, we simply want to provide
you with an overview of these scholarships.
Different types of Scholarships
Out of school scholarships
• Entrance Scholarships
College & University scholarships to first year students ranging from
$1,000 - Full Ride
• Affiliation Scholarships
Sponsoring organizations such as unions, clubs, and work places that
you or your family members belong to (such as Tim Horton’s,
McDonald’s, BC Soccer Association, Telus etc.)
• Bursaries
Grants awarded based on financial need (proven family household
financial need)
In school Scholarships:
Partners36 Scholarships
• Scholarships for Surrey School District students only
ranging from $250 - $2,500
• Partners36 Scholarships will be available in the Spring
from the Surrey School District webpage
• Applications must be submitted to the Career Centre
• The application deadline is Friday, April 8th at 4:00pm
In school scholarships continued…
District/Authority Scholarships
• Rewards a student for achievement in non-academic fields such as Fine
Arts, Applied Skills, Physical Activity, Second Languages, Technical and
Trades, and Community Service
• Scholarships are worth $1,250 per student
• Applications will be available online starting in the Spring of 2022
• Application deadline is Friday, April 8th at 4:00pm
In school scholarships continued…
NSSS In-School Scholarships
• Over 50 local In-school scholarships and awards are available only to
North Surrey Secondary students
• Examples include PAC, Student Council, Legion, Rotary club and many
more
• They range in amount between $200 - $1,500
• A fillable Microsoft form will be available online, on the North Surrey Grad
Info 2022 Team in the Spring of 2022.
• The application deadline is Friday, April 8th, 2022 at 4:00pm
The Loran Award is renewable for up to four years, with a total
value of $100,000
Each Award includes:
•An annual stipend of $10,000
•A matching tuition waiver from one of 25 partner universities
•Personal mentorship from a Canadian leader
•Up to $14,000 in funding for summer internships
To be eligible to apply for the Loran Scholarship
students must…
• Be in your final year of uninterrupted full-time studies in high
school.
• Present a minimum cumulative average of 85%.
• Hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.
• Be at least 16 years of age by September 1st of the following
year.

RE/MAX 2022 Quest for Excellence®
The Quest for Excellence is a bursary program for grade 12 students in Western Canada. It
was established by RE/MAX of Western Canada to recognize the success and ongoing
pursuits in regard to leadership and community contribution initiatives.
What is Awarded?
RE/MAX of Western Canada will award 16 bursaries of $1,000 each to qualifying Grade 12
students. In addition, each award includes a Certificate of Excellence signed by the Regional
Executive Vice President of RE/MAX of Western Canada. Winners will be notified in April 2022.
Who Can Participate?
The Quest for Excellence is open to all Grade 12 students attending high school from
September 2021 – June 2022. Grade 12 students may not have participated in graduation
commencement ceremonies in the past.

What is Required?
Students are to convey the contributions they have made to their communities in a short
online essay, maximum 1,250 words. Key qualities students should demonstrate are
leadership, motivation and communication skills. Other attributes may include volunteering,
participation in charitable events or fundraising, and contributions that enrich the lives of
others and their communities.

RE/MAX 2022 Quest for Excellence program will open for submission until
March 14th, 2022.
This scholarship is for graduating students furthering their
education at a post-secondary institution. Each student
selected will receive a one-time $2,000 scholarship.
15 scholarships will be awarded for a total of $30,000
To be eligible for this scholarship students must:
• Be a graduating high school senior
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.2
• Demonstrate the attributes of good citizenship and service in
school and the community
• Plan to attend a post-secondary institution in 2022
The deadline to apply is September 26th, 2021 at 11:59pm
