BOOK WEEK

Book week was a wonderful success. Thank you so much to everyone who supported our book week by buying books.

With your purchases we now have $1000 in commission to spend on more wonderful books for our library. Merci — Mrs

Gatehouse.

Thank you to all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and parents who come along to see the children in the parade

and to stay for grandparents day. Everyone had a lovely time and we enjoyed having you here to see us in action. Thank

you again for all your support.

ROSARY BEAD MAKING: Alan Forbes running rosary

bead making on Wednesdays during lunchtime. We

thank Alan for his time and patience in helping chil-

SCHOOL NURSE PROGRAM FOR PREP CHILDREN

LARGE WHITE ENVELOPES WERE HANDED

TO ALL PREP CHILDREN LAST WEEK.

ENVELOPES NEED TO BE RETURNED TO

SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE PLEASE.

GO TO PAGE 3 IF YOU DO NOT CONSENT.

On Tuesday the 19th of June, the students of St Laurence Primary School will be participating in an ADVENTURE LAPATHON

that is run by the Parents & Friends committee. The course will be within the school grounds and will include many

obstacles and activities to challenge our children and promote fun while being active.

The course will be modified as the day progresses to make the course more challenging for the older students.

The number of laps that students complete will be marked down for each student and the laps for each class will be tallied

up. The class with the most laps will win a lunch provided by the Parents & Friends committee.

This day will also be a fundraiser where students can raise money by getting sponsors for the lapathon. (PLEASE SEE THE

ATTACHED SHEET). This will be tallied up for each class and again the class who has raises the most money will be

rewarded with a lunch from the Parents & Friends committee. The class that runs the most laps will also be awarded a

lunch.

Other prizes will include a ‘King and Queen’ of the lapathon, the “boss of the bank’ as well as the family who raises the

most money.

PROGRAM FOR THE DAY:

Grade Prep/1 and 2: 10:15am - 10:45am

Grade 5 and 6: 11:30am – 12:00pm

Grade 3 and 4: 12:15pm - 12:45pm

So that this day is a fun and safe day, we will be requiring some parents to assist throughout the day. Mostly just standing

at each obstacle to assist and encourage the students.

A CareMonkey has gone out this afternoon. HELPERS NEEDED. Please indicate on CareMonkey if you are able to assist on

the day. Your help will be very much appreciated.

SPONSOR FORMS WAS ON THE BACK OF THE INFORMATION SHEET THAT WENT HOME TODAY. They are to be returned by

21st June.

LIGHTNING PREMIERSHIP

Last Friday the annual Lightning Premiership was held at

Mary MacKillop College. The weather was perfect and a

large crowd of spectators were in attendance. This event

concludes this year’s winter sports program.

Many thanks to Mary MacKillop College for their assistance

on the day and throughout the winter sport program. The

College grounds and facilities are excellent and very well

presented. Kate Sperling the District Coordinator from

Mirboo North PS, did a great job with organisation and

preparation and the day ran smoothly.

St Laurence's is fortunate that we have such generous and

interested parents who give up their time to help not only

last Friday but also throughout our winter sport program.

Many thanks to Emma McGannon, Lorcan Heneghan, Trish

Bowler and Natasha McRae for your invaluable support.

Our school did not have any team move into the Grand

Final or onto the Division stage. However, our students

efforts were whole hearted and their behaviour and

sportsmanship was of high standard.

Finally many thanks to all those parents/grandparents who

came along last Friday to watch the various teams. It is

always great to have such support.
