Ken’s Korner From Ken…
WOW… I don’t know where to start! God is so good, all the time, but recently the Lord
has been pouring out blessings after blessings in our church family. We have welcomed
many new members into our fellowship and will celebrate baptism at the lake during our
annual church picnic on September 8th. I hope that everyone is planning to attend our
annual picnic. See elsewhere for details about what to bring.
We will set up our usual games of horse shoes and corn hole and will have sign-up
sheets in the hallway for both in advance.
Church Council…... We have implemented a Church Council process of calendar plan-
ning that has already met twice and made great strides. You will be able to pick up a
tentative copy of some of our events through the New Year by this Sunday.
Church Council will meet on the 1st Sunday night of each month beginning in
November. They will meet next on September 29th (rather than October 6th).
The Church Council is recommending the following changes to our Sunday night
program. CrossWalk, Awana etc., will continue at the 5:30 p.m. hour. Then following at
6:30 p.m. they are recommending the following emphasis:
1st Sunday – WMU, CARE, Committee Meetings etc.
2nd Sunday – Sunday Singing – a variety of music opportunities
3rd Sunday – Family Fellowship with games and interactions
4th Sunday – Missions Emphasis with groups spending 30 minutes sharing their
mission and ministry.
These new emphasis’ will begin in October.
Church Wide Workday – We are setting up a yard work day for Saturday, September 7th
,
8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Rain check days will be each Saturday until we can get this
done. A sign-up sheet for various needs can be found in the church or you can just show
up to be a helper. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Come help us put our
yard in order for the fall.
Sign-up sheets for the following can be found in the church:
Golden Fellowship Shoney’s Breakfast Trip for September 19th.
Bus Transportation to the Crusade each night September 15-18.
Golden Fellowship Leaf Trip – Thursday, October 17th.

Dear Home Partners, Your ministry was definitely an answer to my Dad’s special needs. Thank you so much for giving of your time and talents to help him. I’m not sure of the spelling or if I have all the correct names but to Randy Upton, Blease Harper and Ray Hiler, you are a blessing! Hopefully, our donation will allow you to help even more people in need. Again, you are much appreciated.
