Curriculum PE Programmes (Primary School) Designed to complement and reinforce existing PE programmes within your school. Its aim is to help children attain their curriculum targets through Physical Literacy; developing confidence, physical competence, personal skills, team work and building self-esteem. This initiative provides children with the foundations for lifelong participation in physical activity. Teachers are encouraged to observe curriculum support sessions. Programmes are delivered over the length of a term (or longer if applicable) by appropriately qualified staff with a minimum of Level 2 qualification. Content is based on the Primary School Physical Literacy Framework encompassing Fundamental, multi-skill and athletics based activities to achieve agreed objectives and outcomes based on the new KS1/KS2 curriculum for 2014.

£29.00 per hour

Initiative Content Cost

Fundamentals: Foundations for Movement This coaching programme has been specifically designed to improve the general dexterity and co-ordination of Foundation Stage and KS1 children. The Fundamentals programme focuses on developing children’s foundations for movement (ABC’s) and fun!

6 weeks - full year support available Content involves fundamentals and multi-

skill based activities to develop movement foundations which support the development of competent and confident movers.

£29 per hour

Multi-skills: Foundations for Physical Activity

This is a natural progression from the fundamentals programme for children in KS2 and is based on giving young people a sound grounding in Physical Literacy. They will encounter a range of activities which can be non-sports or sport specific to improve their basic movement and fundamental sport skills for lifelong participation in physical activity.

6 weeks - full year support available Content is based on the Primary School

Physical Literacy Framework encompassing multi-skill based activities which enhance children’s creative, social and thinking skills whilst gaining an understanding of the positive benefits of being physically active.

£29 per hour

Multi-skills: Developing Athleticism

This programme involves athletic based sessions to develop the fundamental movements required in all sports including jumping, running, throwing and catching plus strength, technique, flexibility, control and balance. This programme includes specific sessions for Foundation, KS1 and KS2 allowing specialised development for every child.

6 weeks - full year support available Content is focused on primary athletics

which aims to develop children’s athleticism through a variety of athletics based sessions. Activities will include running, jumping, throwing and catching with opportunities to take part in competitive modified athletics events. Sessions are specifically designed for each Key Stage.

£29 per hour

Sport Specific Sessions Football, Futsal, Handball, Dodgeball or Primary Athletics sessions for all Key Stages. Sessions are delivered to the specific needs and ability level of the participants.

1 or multiple weeks of support available. 1 hour sessions Delivered by appropriately qualified staff

with a minimum Level 2 coaching qualification.

Sessions aim to teach the specific skills required for the sport as well as the rules of the game.

£29 per hour

Extra-Curricular Clubs Initiative Content Cost

After School Football Club Our After School Clubs are extremely popular. They take place straight after the end of the school day and generally last for one hour. We aim to provide a safe and fun environment where children can develop their football skills

After School Club (Other) We are also able to offer additional sports which can be delivered during after school clubs. These include: Handball, Futsal, Dodgeball, Primary Athletics.

We endeavour to provide 2 qualified coaches (lead coach with a minimum Level 2 coaching qualification).

All the sessions are FUN-based and teach basic football skills together with the importance of co-ordination and teamwork.

The clubs usually last for the duration of a term although we are happy to run the club for the full year.

£35 per hour (max. 10 participants) £3.50 per child per session (normally funded by parents)

Lunch Club Takes place over lunch time and provides a safe and fun environment where children can develop their fundamental movement skills and have fun! Lunch Clubs can be sport focused (e.g. football) or multi-skill based.

We endeavour to provide 2 qualified coaches (lead coach with a minimum Level 2 coaching qualification).

The lunch clubs are run throughout the term although we are happy to run these clubs for the duration of the year.

Funded Programmes (Primary School) Initiative Content Cost

The key aims of the project are:

To improve children’s physical literacy and fundamental movement skills required for physical activity and sport;

To increase children’s passion, motivation and enjoyment in physical activity, sport and other academic studies;

To increase and promote opportunities for children to participate in competitive sports and access pathways into further participation;

To develop children’s understanding of personal skills and values needed to achieve their potential;

To enhance teachers knowledge, passion and confidence to develop PE and school sport.

Funded by: Premier League Charitable Fund

Full academic year (39 week programme) 2 hours of high quality PE curriculum support per

week, half term of support for each year group from Y1 – Y6

This is a school-based education

programme for children aged 7 - 11 to

promote nutritional education, an active

lifestyle, and build awareness for the

importance of a healthy diet. The

programme’s aims and outcomes will follow

the National Curriculum focusing on PSHE

and Science.

6 week programme 6 X 45 minutes in the classroom 6 X 45 minutes of physical activity Children will split their time between practical

sport sessions and classroom learning. Sports included will be football, handball, and dodgeball while learning about nutrition, importance of exercise, the body, and food groups in the classroom sessions.

These will be delivered in accordance with the government’s “eatwell” plate scheme.

Support from schools staff is required during the sessions.

FREE for schools who have NOT received this programme prior to 2017 £650.00 for Schools who have previously received the free offer

Funded Programmes (Secondary School & Post 16) Initiative Content Cost

This programme is funded by the Premier League and Sport England and is designed to engage more females aged 14-25 years in open community football satellites. The aim is to encourage more girls and women to participate in football based activities on a regular basis. Funded by: Premier League & Sport England

Target audience: Participants aged 14 – 25 years 1 hour session per week Sessions include football based activities and tailored

for the group. Delivered by appropriately qualified Community

Foundation staff. Opportunities for local, regional and national

competitions and festivals. Rewards for regular attendance. Opportunities to gain qualifications.

FREE Taster sessions available for 2017/18 £70 per hour (max. 20 participants) *£35 p/hr max. 10 participants

PL Multi-Sport This programme is funded by the Premier League and is a multi-sport programme involving badminton, basketball, volleyball and handball. It involves open community satellite clubs which aim to engage, retain and sustain participation in these sports. Funded by: Premier League

Foundation staff. Opportunities for local, regional and national

Literacy Programmes Initiative Content Cost

Reading Matters Programme In Sheffield there is an identified need for positive male role models to read and support every child’s ability to learn.

We will work in school and hear the child read for 20 minutes each, once a week over a 10 week period.

Each session is on a 1 to 1 basis and includes both reading & mentoring.

£30 per hour

Literacy Enrichment Project This project aims to increase participant’s aspirations towards writing and encourage progress towards individual attainment targets in English. It also aims to develop individual self-belief, safe-confidence and self-esteem in English. This will be achieved using the inspiring nature of the football club, including visits to our iconic facilities such as Bramall Lane and the SUFC Academy.

Maximum group size of 10 pupils Delivered by Community Foundation teaching staff. Pupils will receive 4 sessions with the first being a

visit to Bramall Lane. Pupils will research about the history and current

developments of the club. Club personnel will provide pupils with background knowledge of the club to form the basis of their work and inspire their writing.

They will be asked to produce 3 pieces of writing including a newspaper report, a story and a poem.

Support from schools staff is required during the sessions.

This project can be tailored to meet the needs of your school and can be discussed upon enquiry.

Sports Leaders Academy Initiative Content Cost

Sports Leaders Academy Designed to add value to the current school curriculum (Year 9+). Various sports leaders UK qualifications and awards can be delivered on site or at SUFC* to enhance leadership and employability skills within the school.

Group size: maximum 16 pupils Awards and qualifications vary to suit the schools needs Length of programme varies based upon

qualification/award Includes credit value on the QCF framework Develop pupils leadership and employability skills for life

Careers in Football Initiative Content Cost

Sports Leaders Academy Informative session providing an insight into the world of football. Education and career pathways identified and action plans created with learners. Useful for Y9’s making GCSE choices and Y11’s/Y13’s making FE/HE choices.

Interactive 1 hour workshop about careers in sport, personal and professional development and education pathways.

Bespoke sessions are available for specific career paths and year groups.

£30.00 per hour

Fund Raising Initiative Content Cost

Penalty Shoot Out Our Sponsored Penalty Shoot-Outs are designed to help raise revenue for the School and the Foundation. We can also use our inflatable!

Proceeds are split 50/50 and can be used to help fund one of the Foundations initiatives without the school having to utilise their own budget

The day is all about fun with the whole school taking part and each child taking 5 penalties

Great incentives for the children: o best fundraiser receives a signed SUFC shirt o anyone raising money will go into a lucky draw to

win an autographed football o Anyone raising £25 or more, receives a SUFC

football & SUFC certificate (N.B the ball is not

autographed and subject to a shared cost of £2.50)

Ground Tours Initiative Content Cost

Bramall Lane Ground Tour Our ground tours provide a great opportunity to learn about the history of Bramall Lane and Sheffield United. As a reward for attendance, a school trip or even incorporated into your curriculum, our grounds tours are a unique experience for schools.

1 hour guided ground tour of Bramall Lane Maximum group size: 30 Visit the legends museum Learn all about the history of Bramall Lane and Sheffield

United FC. On request, ground tours can be linked to school based

topics including maths and English.

Holiday Camps Initiative Content Cost

Football Camps Our very popular football camps take place during the school holidays 9.30am-3.00pm for children aged 5-13 years at 4 venues across Sheffield (Crookes, Academy, Westfield and Meadowhead).
