Mr. P. Nallaperumal Pillai
Headmistress
Message
I am glad that SBIOA International School, Mambakkam is planning to release a
souvenir to mark the successful completion of the past academic year 20-21.
The school has successfully navigated one of the trying situations faced ever by the
whole world. The initiative taken by the Headmistress, and staff members to deliver
uninterrupted learning of the students is noteworthy.
What makes a child gifted and talented may not always be good grades in school,
but a different way of looking at the world and learning. Education goes beyond
shaping the students as individuals and enhancing their perspectives—it helps them
better handle problematic situations.
I am sure the students of SBIOA International School have been shaped
appropriately by their mentors to face any kind of hardships that life may throw.
Let’s all pray and hope, normalcy is restored soon, and we meet in school.
Stay Safe!
for their excellent planning, execution and cooperation during this pandemic.
The year had been unprecedented. Due to the country wide lockdown declared by
the Government, air of uncertainty lingered around us.
It was evident that the time had come to go with online teaching methods. I am happy
that the teachers of SBIOA International School have been able to quickly adapt to
technology, thus making education accessible to our students, every corner of the
country or abroad, wherever they were held up.
Education to be continued even during this pandemic is important because it
broadens our knowledge, and this knowledge then opens our minds to new
perspectives, ideas, beliefs, and cultures. It breeds confidence. Confidence breeds
hope. Hope breeds peace.
I wish our entire community of School a safe and healthy life.
Let us overcome the situation with confidence.
Dr. R. Balaji
Message
The children of today are the future of tomorrow. And in order to tackle the
environmental, social, and economic issues that our societies will face in the future,
we need educated, skilled leaders who are dedicated to pursuing creative solutions.
There was a time when usage of social media by young children was criticised by
many. But now, regular classes are being compensated by online classes and constant
assessments.
This is a creative solution to an unexpected problem. Exploiting the available
resources to our advantage is a skill. I expect the students of SBIOA International
School to be skilled leaders providing creative solutions. Parents should also guide
their children to use social media efficiently and monitor their day-to-day usage.
I appreciate Team SBIOA IS for taking efforts in bringing out this souvenir in spite
of odds.
Message
I am happy to note that SBIOA International School continues to demonstrate its
commitment to its students from the year of its inception.
The consistent cultural and sports achievements by the students is commendable.
The efforts taken by the teachers to make the students participate in online seminars
and competitions and event celebrations to impart holistic education shows the
commitment of the teachers and students.
Education is more than just learning how to read and write. Education helps us grow
personally, professionally, and socially. It also helps us become better versions of
ourselves. And it broadens our perspectives to help us learn about different societies
and cultures.
Students should use the given opportunities and come forward to participate in the
training programmes, clubs and other extra-curricular activities so as to enhance your
innate talents.
Mr. M. Manimaran
Message
It is indeed a privilege that a Souvenir is being released every year which includes
the activities of the school, students’ achievements and their literally and artistic
contributions.
Preparation for the souvenir sharpens and strengthens the skills of the students. To
know that our students have taken efforts to coordinate, despite the distance is heart-
warming. It shows their interests and dedication with which they are being mentored.
Enriching our brains with new and valuable information improves our ability to
think, analyze, and process the world around us. Being presented with different
perspectives helps us quickly adapt to new and unfamiliar environments. It also
teaches us to stay calm when faced with problems, and it gives us techniques to deal
with challenges in a logical way.
I am mindful of the fact that the global health crisis had hit us hard physically and
mentally. Nevertheless, it could have been harder but for the prudent and strategic
teaching and support plan by our teachers.
Let us build our self-confidence and learn more about our strengths and reach greater
heights.
I wish our Headmistress, Team of teachers, Parents, and Students good luck!
Mr. M. Muralidharan
Correspondent, SBIOA IS
Message
“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an
indomitable will” – Mahatma Gandhi.
As educators, students and parents, we’re experiencing huge change and uncertainty at the moment.
However, the importance of education remains consistent.
The past academic year saw an unimaginable scenario, but we also realised our primary
responsibility is to keep the teaching -learning process going, and online learning and teaching
could be the greatest opportunity because of this crisis. This realisation made us shift from in-
person teaching to online learning. We were able to help teachers rapidly scale-up and start distance
education. Every effort was taken to make the online learning resourceful, interesting, exciting,
and useful for the students.
A curated collection of useful resources including self- made video tutorials, Power point
presentations, reference resource materials, worksheets were posted in online forums. Online
strategy sessions like support classes and monitoring sessions bridged the learning gap for
academically challenged students and efforts were successful. We encouraged our students to
participate in a wide range of activities virtually. From student leadership to engaging clubs and
academic teams, our students were challenged intellectually. And parents played a big part, too.
Parents were of immense support and their cooperation is much appreciated. They were the
pillars of support for both teachers and students.
We faced a monumental challenge- still do, and we must work together like never before. It is not
only the right thing to do, but also the smart thing to do as students are young and energetic to learn
through these online resources. The future of virtual learning seems to be vibrant as number of
students and faculty are showing interest in these teaching and learning methods.
We do not know what the future holds or how long schools will stay closed. But we can try to shape
each day to be positive, creative, exciting, and rewarding. As William Shakespeare reminds us in
this quote – our potential is infinite! By staying positive and refusing to give up, despite the
challenges that come our way, our inner strength will endure.
My sincere thanks to our President Shri. Nallaperumal Pillai, Secretary & Correspondent Dr. R.
Balaji, Associate Secretary Shrimathi S. Santhi, Treasurer Shri S. Manimaran , Correspondent Shri
M. Muralidharan and Management Committed members for their support and guidance.
The School souvenir is a compilation of memorable events of the academic year 20-21. My sincere
thanks to the Editorial Board for etching these in the annals of SBIOA International.
Mrs.Vijayalakshmi Nageswaran

Life is Just a Railway Train,
Which is more terrifying than Rain.
Everything in it increases Day-by-Day,
While many people enter on our way.
They encourage us by doing good deeds,
And later sprouts a hope of new seeds.
Later, they will have to go,
While, we still might have foes.
While the dark clouds haven't yet disappeared,
A new hope emerges when the sun appeared.
All the hope is now in your hand,
But this repeats like a spinning fan.
When you think about to ascend,
You would have reached the track's dead end.

At last, with my courage, I went inside the shed.
I pushed the scary door and stood on the rotted floor-board,
when I went a little in- it became darker and darker.
Suddenly the door shut so fast, I rushed to get out,
but the door didn’t open.
I was frightened and sat down in fear.
I suddenly saw something moving,
I wasn’t sure what it was but, was sure something was there!
With my whole strength and courage,
I went forward and caught something... it was my brother...
I recognized him with his curly and oily hair.
I always suspected that there must be some secret with him,
As he always compelled me not to go inside the shed.
I somewhat managed to get the truth out,
And yes! His zeroes in tests were safely hidden there.
I switched on the light but couldn’t open the door,
Through the remote control he had made, he had locked the door.
Surely, he is a great inventor, with many inventions to his credit.
Promptly, I apprised my mom, she was angry but happy for his invention
PHEW! she gave him a knock and a nice pat.
That was the best day in my life!

EXTERIOR ANGLE DERIVATION
To Prove: An exterior angle of a triangle is equal to sum of two opposite interior
angles.
Since, we already know that sum of angles in a linear pair is 180° and sum of angles
in a triangle is 180°, we can write that
∠1+∠2+∠3 = ∠4+∠3

CLOCK IT RIGHT – WITH BLOCK CHAIN
Satoshi is a 6th standard student studying in SBIOA. Both his parents were working
and hence going to shops for their daily needs became a challenge. Satoshi’s distant
uncle name is Krishna, who is a renowned businessman in various areas. Recently
Krishna started his new ecommerce venture called dailymilk.com. Krishna gets milk
from multiple vendors and uses cold storage to store and then deliver it daily to the
residents based on their orders through his APP.As part of his usual routine, one day
Krishna visits one of his storage point nearby to Satoshi house.
From his storage place, Krishna uncle goes to Satoshi’s house.
Krishna: - Hi Satoshi how are you doing dear?
Satoshi: - Hey Krishna Uncle!! What a surprise... Pl come. It has been so long you
came home. Why are you not visiting our home often?
Krishna: - Nothing like that kiddo! New business which I ventured in is keeping me
very busy.
Krishna: - I started dairy products business kiddo.
Satoshi: wow! That’s great but there were so many in and around shops selling
dairy products. Why did you start the same business uncle?
Krishna: - Not like that Sato! This is an e-commerce venture specialized for dairy
products wherein I procure the milk from multiple farmers and store it in cold storage
and perform the delivery on the same day.
Satoshi: - Interesting!! What is the App’s name uncle? I will ask mom to immediately
install and use it. Since both my parents are working, they are struggling to go to
shop every day and purchase milk. This would help
them big time.
Krishna: - Its dailymilk.com.
going then?
Krishna: - Not that great. Though I do good amount of
business, but I get loads of complaints from multiple regions about the quality of the
milk like low fat content, adulterated milk etc., even now I came to visit nearby cold
storage as I had lot of complaints coming up from in and around this area. So visited
the respective suppliers and trying to find out the issue. But still, I couldn’t nail down
to the exact supplier who is creating the issue, as I have so many small-scale suppliers.
Satoshi: - Definitely, this is tough situation to be in uncle, but in this technology
world this can be solved very easily.
Krishna: - Is it! How come? Can you please explain?
Satoshi:- Uncle , you haven’t heard about blockchain. I have seen multiple videos on
that while trying to understand the concept behind the same. Its mentioned that it will
solve so many real-world problems in various area like Banks, supply chain,
insurance etc., please explore the same.
Krishna: - Shocked (on positive note).. Is that so, how come that’s possible?
Satoshi: - I heard that it has the ability to back trace till the initial source.
Krishna: - if so, then it’s a great breakthrough in my business and my problem is
solved. Let me call my IT service provider who helped me in developing my e-comm
app regarding this.
Satoshi:- sure uncle! If it works, definitely it will be great and all the best.
Krishna: Thanks kiddo! Catch you later. Its time up. Keep learning advanced
technologies like this always. Bye!
Satoshi :- Sure uncle will do, thanks and Bye uncle. Take care. Please come home
often.
Krishna:- Sure Dear! Bye.
That was an amazing breakthrough in Krishna’s life. He used Block Chain

Traceability. He soon started using the
block chain techniques and found out the
exact vendor who was doing the
adulteration which caused all the issues.
Soon he detached the vendor from his
business and started tracing every product’s quality thus earning more satisfied and
happy customers. Thus, he started calling our young genius as “Techie Satoshi” and
gave him lots of gifts as token of love and gratitude.

Think and Act
It was a normal day at school until ‘Math’ class. It was the day when the teacher
announced our result for the test we had written last week. My heart was racing. I
hadn’t prepared for the test at all. I knew it was not gonna be good. If I didn’t get at
least a ‘B’ I would not get my allowance for the week. I needed the money for the
movie, my friends and I had planned to go to, over the weekend. At last, I got my
answer sheet, and it was not what I expected. I got a ‘D’. I told my friends about this
and they were sad. I would not be able to go to the movie unless…. That's it! The
devil in me made a master plan. I gathered my friends and told them what they had
to do. When the lunch bell rang, all the teachers went to the lunchroom and the
principal went to the nearby restaurant (the food in the cafeteria is horrible). We
sneaked into the staff room and took Ms. Judy Dellfire, our Math teacher’s mark
register. We got it and went as far away as possible. We did see some hack on how
to change the grade on “YouTube”. We tried and it worked. I was relieved. Finally, I
could go home without being scared. In all the excitement we forgot to keep the
register back in its place and went home. Ms. Judy noticed the missing register and
reported it to the principal. We did not expect what was coming next. Looks like the
principal had CCTV installed in the school and in no time, we were caught. Ms. Judy
changed my grade, gave me detention and worse, spoke with my parents. When we
reached home my parents yelled at me and cut my allowance for 3 weeks and made
me learn math the whole week. I broke their trust and disappointed them. That's when
I realized that all I did wrong, was for the money. I didn’t think twice about my
actions and made wrong decisions. Since then, I promised myself that I would think
twice about my actions and make the right decisions.

Multiply it by 2 [double it]
Now, multiply it by 5
Now subtract it by 6
Now focus on th last digit i.e. if it’s ‘12’ focus on ‘2’
Hmm.. I guess your number is
“4”
Multiply it by 2
Now divide by 2
and your answer is
SINGAPORE
There might be racism, poverty, pollution & traffic. In the world there are so many
countries with problems, it seems like every country and every person is filled with
problems. And Singapore has managed to find solutions!!
RACISM:
In Singapore many races live
I.e. the Indians, the Malay’s, Chinese & Eurasians, and because people of different
races might disagree and hate each other, Singapore has forced all of them to live
together in buildings!! And so instead of enemies, they are neighbours!!
TRAFFIC:
Many countries suffer from traffic. In Singapore they had traffic until they fixed it.
In Singapore they limited the number of cars on the road, so that the no. of cars on
the entire country cannot increase and many people use public transport instead of
cars and bikes.
POLLUTION:
Landfills look and smell disgusting in many, many countries, but in Singapore they
DO NOT. Because they take their trash, burn it and filter out the smoke, collect the
ashes and dump them and made a man-made island!! Another problem is fresh
water, so much of it is WASTED, but not in Singapore. It is one of the countries
which has scarcity of water and so these guys built an entire system that takes their
urine water and turns it into clean water that humans can drink. And there is no
hazard in it as it is tested 150,000 times before it is given to the public. So, realize
that water should never, ever be wasted again.
AND THEY SOLVED IT ALL IN 53 YEARS SINCE THEY GOT
INDEPENDENCE.
But still Singapore has a lot of problems with no solutions, they too suffer from
inequality, high prices, tight security. Even many elderly people can’t afford to
retire, many imported foreign workers are very low paid.
SINGAPORE HAS MANY PROBLEMS BUT UNLIKE MANY THEY ARE
TRYING TO FIX THEM. IF THEY CAN SOLVE SO MANY PROBLEMS IN 53
YEARS THEN WHY CAN’T WE?!!!
“IF THEY CAN
THEN WE CAN”

All our schools and our parent’s offices were
closed. My family and I were happy, we
played games and watched movies. But when
days passed, we were bored in playing games
and we had watched all the movies! After a
few days of dullness, my parents decided to go
to our native. My brother and I were so happy
that we couldn’t sleep! The next day my
mom and I started packing all our stuff and
started our journey that night in our car. After
a night of travelling, we reached our
grandmother’s place and found it to be
different.
We got down from the car and found out that
we were in a HOSPITAL! We asked our
parents what was going on and we found out
that we had to take a COVID test!!
The test was disgusting but we got a result of
negative and we started our way to our
grandmother’s house. We had lots of fun. After
a few days we were introduced to online
classes. They were interesting but also
difficult. We started our studies after 2 months
and it went well. Everything was going good,
but suddenly my dad was having cough and
body pain. We were sure that it was not that
deadly virus, but my dad went for a COVID
TEST. We were shocked to hear this news as
my dad was positive for COVID -19. He took
his treatment for four weeks and he was good
as new after having lots of medicines. But in

There was a shed, near the flower bed,
In there, was a spooky ghost, I always thought it as a joke?
But I never tried to step inside, when I was a cowardly child.
As I heard some strange noises and spine- chilling voices.
It’s almost fall, and now I’m tall,
So today I’m gonna see, the abandoned shed after tea.
Now I’m one step closer to go inside and find if my brother lied.
But I can’t believe in what I saw! There was an old trunk before me.
With so much thought I opened it and there it was my brother’s prank kit,
With all the junk, there was a box, but it was full of stinking socks.
I thought there wasn’t much to explore, so I walked towards the door.
And then I found a golden key, right then an angry bee stung me.
As I cried in pain and fell by the door, I saw a box beneath the rotten floor.
I pulled it out recklessly and opened it with the golden key.
The choice I made to check out the shed, with fear about the ghost of the dead,
I never regret to this day and thank my brother in every way,
For in the shed, I found something precious.
A long-lost treasure, a diamond necklace.

Humidity in the air,
Longer days with fun and joy,
Is what summer brings.
And so many more things.
The cold tingling feeling of the pool,
As our skin gives a sign of relief,
Our minds thinking of the lazy days,
When nobody is in grief.
The sun shines merrily about the horizon,
Sharing its heat and light,
Smile on every body's face,
As our hearts are filled with delight.

Make your own destiny
Zara Mcbridge was a gymnast and she was doing her 8th grade in Gems Our Own
School in Corsica.
She was the role model for every student in her school. One day she suddenly went
blind and her dream of becoming an international gymnast professional was shattered.
However, she refused to give up and was very hopeful in finding her way out to fulfill
her dream.
She started looking at the possibilities of practicing gymnastic using unique methods
that were designed exclusively for blind people. That is when she heard about Ultra
Sound technology and how it can help blind people to overcome their disability.
Without wasting time, she enrolled herself for the classes and started mastering it
soon due to her incredible quest for success at the highest level and passion for
gymnastics.
She was all set to participate in the Olympics for the physically challenged, which
was scheduled to happen in 2 years’ time. As things started to fall in place for Zara,
her confidence level increased slowly but steadily. To make things more beautiful,
Zara got a new friend (Maya) in her school who was a muted child. Like Zara, she
too was very passionate about sports. They both started enjoying their company and
kept motivating each other to practice hard and improve their performances.
Six months later, when Zara & Maya were chatting casually in their garden, the topic
on how they suddenly got this disability came up. Both were shocked to know that
there was something common, which resulted in their disability. They figured out the
root cause of the issue could be the excessive usage of electronic gadgets such as
Smart Phones, IPad, and Tablets…
During the lock down, both friends were unable to train Outdoor & Indoor and hence
started spending more time online in entertainment and by playing games. As the
days passed by, the amount of time they spent on gadgets had increased significantly
and it had disturbed their daily routine as well.
One stage it became everything for them and the only reason they wake up every
morning is to engage themselves with online entertainment and games. It was in this
situation they started having those health issues frequent headaches, dizziness,
blurred vision, throat infections… all sorts of problem in their head.
By the time they decided to undergo treatment, it was too late and the damage was
already caused.
After discussing about this, tears started rolling from both friends’ eyes and they
admitted how this behavior ruined their future.
Nevertheless, they both are ready to put that costly mistake behind them and ready
to accept the new challenge in front of them. Chase their dream and achieve big.
Both friends decided to spread their story to as many people as possible to create an
awareness among the youth about how bad life- style can impact one’s life and at the
same time when you follow your dreams and work hard with passion then nothing is
impossible in life.

My World of Sports
While the chicks clucked and plants grew,
As bright as the powerful scorching Sun,
But the sky was still blue.
I was wondering myself alone,
If I had a bike or few games,
I would enjoy that with my friends,
Oh! I should have called out their names.
A football or the cricket,
I have so much to say,
I like indoor games - UNO and Chess
I can’t wait to play.
They inspire me so much in my dreams,
Not like a pet, not like a cat. Winning is the stage for celebration
But a world full of sports played by athletes, Losing is a part of experience.
Few with hockey sticks and rest with bats.

The Wise Man
There was a village where people used to visit a wise man to help them with their
problems. They complained about the same problem every day. One day the wise
man shared a joke with them and all started laughing. After sometime he shared the
same joke, and a few of them smiled.
After a couple of minutes, he again shared the same joke and no one laughed. After
patiently keeping quiet for some time, the wise man said, “When you cannot laugh
over the same joke again and again, so why do you complain about the same
problem?”
Moral of the Story: “You cannot solve your problem by worrying or being anxious.
It will only waste your valuable time and energy”.
