At each monthly staff meeting, one department will give a presentation on what they have accomplished during the PLC time and explain how it has positively impacted on student learning and teacher practice.

Each department will form a PLC and meet every other Wed. morning for one and a half hours throughout the school year to: align curriculum, plan common assessment, analyse student data,build a pyramid of interventions to be implemented for students at risk of failing, collaborate on best practices etc.

Educate staff on the nature/purpose of a Professional Learning Commuity and continue to develop a strong PLC community at O'Connor. Steps which have been/will be included are Chicago trip to Chicago DuFour's Adlai Stevenson High School, Wayne Hulley presentations on Effective Schools/Curriculum Alignment/Common Assessmen, PD days on Setting Smart Goals and Differentiated Instruction and the analysis of student data to improve student learning.
