PIOTR SKARGA’S SECONDARY SCHOOL IN GROJEC
PATRON – Piotr Skarga – (1536-1612) from Grojec was a Jesuit and a protector of Polish king Zygmunt III Waza. He became well known as a writer who wrote about the politics, and in his books he criticized unjustice of law, weakness of regal power and lack of patriotism. The most famous Skarga’s book is „Kazania sejmowe”(”The Seym Sermons”). In Grojec there is a monument that commemorates that great man.

SCHOOL HISTORYOur school is one of the oldest in the District of Grojec and in Mazowieckie Province. It was founded in 1912. The present building was built before II World War, in 1928. The gymnasium was built in 1960’s. The school is regularly modernised and extended.

SCHOOL FINAL EXAM (‘’MATURA”)
Our school ranks very high in final-exam-results statictics in Mazovieckie Province. The „Matura” exam (school final exam) is in May and lasts for the whole month. Students take three core (obligatory) subjects: Polish, maths, foreign language, plus extra (optional) subjects. The exam results are presented to students at the end of June.

Administrative Unit Grojec is situated in Mazowieckie Province, 45 km south of the Polish capital Warsaw. Administrative borders are marked out by rivers – Wisla (from east) and Pilica (from south). The District of Grojec is called ”The biggest orchand in Europe”, because most of its inhabitants are orchandists. Grojeckie is a fruit-growing area. The production of apples stands for 30 percent of the whole Polish production. Grojec is situated in the centre of the most important road and railway arteries in Poland.
