Junior Course information

• Juniors must be a minimum of 13 years old. All

students aged 13-15 years must be booked on a

Junior Course.

• Lunch and single and return transfers are

compulsory.

• Students aged 16 years old can be booked onto a

Junior Course but they will be subject to the same

supervision and curfew rules as other juniors.

• In exceptional circumstances we may accept 17

year olds on junior courses if they are part of a

junior group.

• Any 16-17 year olds who want to change from a

junior course to an adult course must have the

written permission of their parents and the course

change can only be authorised by the School

Director, Director of Student Services or Junior

Center Manager.

Junior Course information

• A Junior Course consists of 20 lessons per

week. These are timetabled in the morning and

afternoon (No iLabs or SPINS.)

• Junior intensive courses of 26 lessons per week

may also be available – please check availability

• Accommodation available in homestay multiple

room or residence

• Junior students have a curfew of 22:00

• Lunches will be provided at school Monday –

Friday. At the weekends host family students will

have lunch provided by the host family. Students

in residence will collect their lunch from the

residence.

• Internet access, free access to Efekta ilab and

progress tracker.

• Course certificate and EFCELT report.

EF Bristol – Junior Activities

Whats included in the junior course?

EF Discovery City Pack Excursion

This is an excursion to London.

The excursion includes a walking tour taking in all

the main sights and a Thames river cruise.

Please note; During the Olympic weeks it may not

be possible to travel to London so an alternative

Discovery City Pack excursion will be offered.

Please speak to the activities office in the school for

more information on London excursion availability

during summer 2012.

Please note that all excursions are subject to

availability.

Time Activity

15.40If juniors don’t want to return to host family or residence immediately they are allowed free time eg to walk to local shops, or play sports with friends.

In summer there is an optional EF activity at 4pm.

Free: EF Disco, Sports, Games, Film Night

£3 - £10 per activity; e.g. cinema, salsa etc.

Students not on an evening activity are supervised by their host family or residence staff. They must ask for permission if they want to go out

unsupervised e.g. to see an early film at the cinema, walk to local shops or play sports with friends.

22.00 CURFEW TIME. Students must be back at their Host Family or Residence.

Saturdays

• Attendance of an excursion or Bristol based activity is compulsory. Students with an empty schedule can buy an excursion in the activities office or alternatively join a supervised EF activity in Bristol.

Sundays

• If students do not have a pre-booked excursion they can buy one in the activities office. Alternatively they can have a free day in Bristol with their host family or residence supervisor. If students want to go out unsupervised they must ask for permission and give details of where they are going and with whom.

Bristol Cathedral Choir School

• Originally founded in 1140 The Bristol Cathedral

Choir School has plenty of character and history

• Located in the center of the city, just a 5 minute

walk from the main school

• Extensive outside area for games and relaxation

• Internet on site

• Situated on excellent bus routes for easy travel

to and from host families

• Weekly bus ticket £16

• 5 Minutes walk to the park and 10 minutes walk

to the city center shopping areas
