    • The Malaysia Education Blueprint2013 – 2025 was developed totransform our education system tomeet these challenges.

    • The school curriculum at both primaryand secondary levels is revised toembed a balanced set of knowledgeand skills such as creative thinking,innovation, problem-solving, andleadership.

    • SRC will be assessed every year based on indicator for SRC at the level 1 – 5 stars.

    • Established before 1957, with the aims of SRC

    as a place that generates the knowledge and

    literacy-based society

    • There are 10,208 schools in Malaysia

    have SRC (MoE, 2019)

    • SRC been supervised by ETD, MoE and

    manage by Library Media Teacher

  • Discussion

    Findings show that students at the age of 14 years frequently

    visit SRC for completing their assignments and majority of

    them are female. This study consistent with Pew Research

    Center report, (2017) found that millennials are the most likely

    generation to use libraries especially library websites and

    female more likely than male visited library.

    It found that the main item of the usage of SRC towards civilization is through SRC act as the knowledge hub and students can practice as a wisdom person with the value of 4.35 and overall mean result is 4.21 the value of civilization. This show a positive indication the use of SRC towards students’ civilization ie. increase their level of knowledge.

    SRC served the reading materials in various format and providing with information literacy skills to access resource-based learning and deal with the real digital learning environment. (Powell, 2017; Shamila, 2013).

  • Conclusion

    This study provides valuable insight regarding the relationship between SRC roles and students’ civilization. The existence of SRC in every schools with the objective to provide quality

    education for the lifelong learning will act as a catalyst for the

    self-learning and to prepare students to become a knowledge

    based individual and more civilized.

    This study adds the literature to the body of knowledge, practical implication provide evidence and understanding of SRC roles towards students’ civilization.

    It also to assist Malaysian Education Ministry in aligning education system to strengthen the policy and standard of SRC implementation and the needed of SRC transformation to prepare the students to be lifelong learners in 21st century learning and will be soaring upwards into the global era as civilized society.
