SCHOOL REVIEW

Bellbridge Primary School has also completed a successful School Review (which is undertaken every four

years). The independent reviewer noted that:

Student learning was well planned and implemented using consistent and effective strategies

Student achievement in most areas was within a good range and in some cases exceeded the State

average

The SWPBS program successfully supported student welfare and wellbeing

The financial planning and management procedures were sound and supportive of the needs of students

and staff

The official School Review Report will be used to develop our next four year Strategic Plan that will begin in

2016. These reports and documents will be available on our school web page in the near future.

PARENTS GROUP

Our Parents Group continues to meet in the After School Care room after most assemblies on Monday morning

and at a craft group on Wednesday afternoon. This very generous and supportive group organised a recent

Bake Sale that raised $344.00 which will be used to purchase treats and prizes for the SWPBS Rewards Shop.

They also managed the Father’s Day Stalls which provided students with an opportunity to buy some lovely

gifts for their dads and other special men in their families.

We really appreciate the community spirit of our parent helpers!

LOST PROPERTY

We have quite a few items of clothing in our Lost Property tub which is outside the Gym. Some include

beanies, scarves, jackets and jumpers that are not part of school uniform. It would be great if parents could

encourage children to check the Lost Property tub for any personal items before the end term. Any clothing

that remains will be donated to charity.

BE SAFE & BE RESPONSIBLE: USE THE SCHOOL CROSSINGS! We have noticed an increase in the number of families who are using the School Crossing on Bellbridge Drive

– THANK YOU! Your use of the crossings reduces the risk of a possible injury or accident involving our

students and reinforces the learning about traffic safety that is undertaken in the classroom.

It also demonstrates a commitment to our SWPBS rules: ‘BE SAFE’ and ‘BE RESPONSIBLE’.

Let’s try to have all families crossing the road using the School Crossing every day.

OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS CARE

It is very important that the staff at the OSHC program are informed if your child/children are not attending the

program on the day you have booked them in, Failure to do so will result in you being charged for that day.

Please inform the coordinator at the program if you have changed your contact phone numbers or address. It is

important to have all details correct in case of an emergency and we need to get in touch with you.

As we approach the end of another term we ask that all invoices are finalised by the last day of school.

If you are running late to pick up your child/children we ask that you use your emergency contacts to help you

or you will be charged $2.00 per minute per child.

The program will be operating on the last day of school from 1.40pm.

NEW PHONE SYSTEM

Recently the school has had a new phone system installed. There are now 4 options available to direct your

call. Option 1: Absent notifications, Option 2: Out of School Hours Care, Option 3: Canteen and

Option 4: All other enquires. When you leave a message notifying the school of an absence, please state your

child’s name, their grade, the date of the absence and the reason for the absence. We are currently having

problems understanding some of the messages being left, so please ensure that you state all details in a clear

manner.

LATE ARRIVAL/EARLY LEAVERS

Any child arriving at school after 8.30am is required to attend the office, with a parent/guardian, to obtain a late

pass. If your child is leaving school early, the parent/guardian is required to send a note with their child on the

morning informing the classroom teacher of the time they will be collected and who will be collecting them.

The parent/guardian is required to sign the child out at the office, where arrangements will be made for the

child to come up to office.

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

If your child is absent from school for any reason, we require parents/guardians to notify the school office that

they won’t be attending. When your child returns to school, a note must be given to their teacher detailing the

date and the reason for the absence.

If your child has any long term absences from school, (eg. holidays, extended illness etc) a note is required to

be given to their teacher informing them of the absence prior to them commencing the absence.
