    Lesson Plan Science 1 Primary

    The lesson plan of the Ecology-Science I class of primary school

    The lesson was prepared for pupils at the age of 7 and it took place on 22nd

    March. It was a

    summary of the lessons cycle connected with the Decalogue on Rational Use of Resources, which

    pupils learnt by heart in Polish language.

    Before each activity there were put indications, which are used to determine what type ofintelligence predominates at pupils.

    The main objectives:

    The diagnosis of pupils abilities and support the all type of childs intelligence developing

    The detail objectives:

    - improving pupils agility- developing the courage and faith in own strenght and possibilities- arousing in pupils the sense of success- developing the skill of cooperating in group

    - making pupils aware that the environment protection is obligatory for each human being- developing creative activity- developing the knowledge about ecology

    Materials: small sheets of paper with words connected with ecology, set of letters, basket with fruit

    and vegetables, colourful containers, metal, plastic and paper things, CD with some music,

    aluminium cans, newspapers, nature quiz.

    Content:

    Langauage intelligence developing

    Indicators:

    1. Pupils use language very well and easily remember words2. Pupils actively take part in word games3. Pupils create new stories using wide variety of words

    Pupils draw small sheets of paper with words connected with ecology, read them quietly and create

    riddles with those words and then tell them other people. The teacher tells the riddle and pupils

    task is to arrange its solution from the scattered letters. Pupils sit in the circle, first pupil says any

    word he/she wants and the task for other pupils is to say the word that begins with the letter which

    the last word ends. Pupils make pairs and draw two small sheets of paper with different words.

    They read them and create short story using among others those two words. Sories are told other

    pupils.

    Logical-mathematical intelligence developing

    Indicators:

    1. Pupils easily count, put in order and classify given objects2. Pupils are very interested in working with numbers, diagrams, can calculate very fast3. Pupils create new sets according to invented by themselves images and relations

    A) Contest nr 1.Pupils are divided into groups. Each group is given a basket with fruit and vegetables. Pupils count

    the fruit and vegetables correctly and put them to proper group according to the teacher orders:

    Vegetables: carrot, parsley, potato, etc.

    Fruit: apple, pear, banana, orange

    Dry fruit: nuts, chestnuts, acorns

    Making sets (classification) groups of different plants, places of their growing, (counting,

    estimating)

    The teacher writes points on the board to each group

    B) Contest nr 2.

    The rubbish segregation metal, plastic, paper, pupils put into the containers marked by proper

    sign and colour (yellow, green and blue). The winner is the group which will segregate rubbish as

    first

    Visual-spatial intelligence developing

    Indicators:

    1. Pupils can build and model crafts using different colours and materials2. Pupils willingly take part in art-technology lessons3. Pupils create new models, drawings, sculptures

    Forest mock-up. Art work with using different techniques. Pupils are divided into groups.

    I group preparing mock-up base

    II group making broadleaved trees

    III group making coniferous trees

    Work in groups under the sight of teacher. Building the mock-up putting different elements on the

    polystyrene. Tidying up place of work. All pupils and the teacher make assesments about the

    activity.

    Music intelligence developing

    Indicators:

    1. Pupils without mistakes can perform rhythm and melody after only one listening2. Pupils listen to music very carefully and imitate heard tunes3. Pupils make more compilcated rhythmical composition, they compose melody

    Dancing with using recycling materials plastic bottles

    Pupils create a circle, the leader is in the centre of it, each pupil has got two bottles.

    I part of game: all make rhythmical strikes: 3x in the thighs, 3x in the bottles (it is repeated several

    times)

    II part of game: the leader who is in the centre of the circle shows different steps and dancing

    moves other pupils imitate it, next the leader switches places with any other pupil from the circle

    III part of the game: pupils move to the rhythm of the music creating circle, they imitate trees in the

    wind, sounds of different birds and animals

    Interpersonal intelligence developing

    Indicators:

    1. Pupils can make contacts with other people and cooperate well with them2. Pupils absorb new information by getting into realtions with others3. Pupils encourage others to take part in a game that was organized by them

    Pupils sit in the circle. Each of them says one sentence, which is directed to the person on the left

    (there can be also used the name of that person): Monika, I was shopping and I bought ... scissors

    (for example, and imitates others also - the scissors movement), the second player repeats the

    previous sentence and adds different object (fan, bike, guitar, etc), imitating of course its

    movement.

    Intrapersonal intelligence developing

    Indicators:

    1.

    Pupils have got clearly defined opinions2. Pupils work individually, without need of being motivated by the teacher3. Pupils show their own projects, reflections that differ from the others ideas

    Brain storm on the topic: You and the environment protection. Pupils can show their opinions in a

    way they want (art work, creating a story, oral description) on the following questions (individual

    work):

    a) What do you do every day to support environment protection?b) How do you imagine our planet in 100 years? (negative results of deforestation,

    pollution, etc)

    Movement intelligence developing

    Indicators:

    1. Pupils show abilities of having control over own body and ability to do different exercises inshort time

    2. Pupils take active part in games involving physical movement3. Pupils are able to demonstrate other people how to do given exercise

    Games involving physical movement and physical fitness (in pairs or groups)

    1. Pair race pupils with a piece of rubbish on the spoon run between cones2. Pair race pupils run with plastic bottles between legs3. Pair race pupils run with metal can on their heads4. Crashing newspapers and creating balls from them on time. Throwing them into the hoop.

    The winner is the group which will throw more balls into the hoop

    5. Passing plastic bottle in rows first up, then down, from left side and then from right side(the faster, the better)

    6. Ecological slalom running between plastic bottles7. Game take it bring it: race with the bottle

    Science intelligence developing

    Indicators:

    1. Pupils have got rich knowledge on the nature topic and understand rules in the nature andits processes

    2. Pupils are interested in nature and have got positive emotional attitude toward nature3. Pupils take part in proecological activities.

    Nature quiz

    a) science riddles the sets consist of riddles connected with natural phenomena, animals, insects,

    etc.

    b)Yes or No choosing the right answer

    In the forest you sream loudly.

    We should segreagate rubbish.You can wash your car in the river.

    You can pick flowers that are under protection.

    Woodepecker eats woodworms and protects trees.

    c) Choose the right sentence

    You shouldnt scream in the forest because:

    - you will have a sore throut- you will scare animals- you will scare people who pick up mushrooms

    When you are in the forest you can empty juice carton:- put to your bag or pocket- throw under the tree to nobody see it- leave on the grass to let someone else clean it

    When you see the bird feeder you should:

    - pass it by- put there some bread- destroy it

    When you see the bird nest, you should:

    - throw sticks on it

    - stand quietly and watch it- scream loudly
