COMPLETED PROJECTS
COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION OF NANOMATERIALSThe SHYMAN project was designed to develop a commer-cially viable technology for the production of nanomate-rials used in the automotive industry, civil engineering, electrical engineering and other industries. The crucial task for the department within the project was to assess the sustainability and cost competitiveness in relation to the target technology and the use of nanomaterials in the selected products. The solution consisted in the simulation, evaluation and analysis of the environmen-tal effects, value and cost effects relating to the relevant products and their production processes (LCA and LCC analysis). The project made a great contribution to the development of insight in the manufacturing of nanoma-terials and the possibilities of their industrial application. The project also advanced the implementation of the Si-maPro Analyst software tools and extensive electronic databases in life cycle analysis.
