The Presentation Of Your Work Is A
Very Important Part Of The Overall
Evaluation Of Your Project
• First impressions are important
• Clarity is essential to inform
• Organization is crucial to convince
• Pride in one’s work is evident by the quality
of the work
Criteria For An Effective Scientific
Presentation Board
• Work is NEAT
• Title is large and readable
• Subtitles are used to help the viewer navigate through
the project
• Work is presented in a logical sequence
• The rest of the text is large enough to be read 2m
away from the board
• There are absolutely NO spelling mistakes
• Work is spread out and balanced
Overall Neatness
• Work should be typed
• Use the same font style and size for regular
text
• Make sure to use colour on your board
• Graphs should be completed on the
computer
• Properly attach papers to the board (e.g.,
avoid corners from curling)

Organization and Subtitles
• Subtitles should be larger than the rest of the text
• I recommend to use different colours for subtitles
• Work should be presented in the same order as in
the report (remember people read from left to right)
• Causal Question, Hypothesis, Materials, Procedure
on left panel
• Title and Observations (pictures, tables, and
graphs on centre panel)
• Conclusion and Discussion on right panel
Do you like the organization of this
board?
High Quality Boards
• A strong board presentation will start your
oral evaluation on the right foot
• It is easier to defend your project standing in
front of something you are proud of
• Use a consistent style to help the viewer
read and learn about your project
