Science Fair Project –Finishing Up
6th Grade
Data Tables/Graphs: (Due 1/21)
*Ms. Morell and I met to make sure that you had good resources to create your data tables and graphs. If you need help creating a graph, look at step by step instructions on her blog:
http://mbmorell-6thgradetech.blogspot.com/If you would like ideas for other types of graphs,
visit: http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph/default.aspx
For more information on WHAT type of graph and data table based on the type of data that you are gathering, visit:

Results (Due 1/21)
• Write the results of the experiment based on the information you have observed.
• WRITE WHAT HAPPENED.
• Example: A sheet of Viva paper towel absorbed an average of 50ml of water. A sheet of Bounty paper towel absorbed an average of 36ml of water.
Conclusion: (1/21) Ask yourself these questions:
• 1. Did you get the result you expected to get? If not- how were the results different?
• 2. Were there any unexpected problems or occurrences that may have affected the results of your investigation?
• 3. Do you think you collected sufficient data? (Were there enough trials? Samples?)
• 4. Do you need to change your original hypothesis? (If you write a revised hypothesis. DO NOT use it to replace your original hypothesis for this project!)
Conclusion: What you MUST include
• 1. State whether you now agree or disagree with your original hypothesis.
• 2. Describe any problems or unusual events that occurred during your investigation.
• 3. Describe what you would do differently next time.
• 4. Change your hypothesis if your data does not support your original hypothesis.
