Cooperation- German is the most popular foreign language in India- Germany is India's 2nd largest research collaborator- Germany is among top 3 destinations for Indian researchers- More than 2000 joint projects completed- More than 7000 exchanges of scientists - More than 4000 joint scientific publications in the last

five years - More than 400 Indo-German workshops and seminars - Between1999-2009 more than 7,520 Indian students & researchers were funded by the DAAD to study in Germany - Indo-German cooperation in research dates back to governmental agreements in 1971 and 1974

- Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC) in Gurgaon funds bilateral projects involving research institution and industry on both sides

→ Funded with 10 Mio € from BMBF and DST each→ 4 projects are running already→ Further calls planned
