Let Us DiscoveAnimals on the Earth !

Let Us Discover the 10 Smartest Animals on the Earth!

.

I AM THE

SMARTEST The First: Orangutans:They are now thought to be the smartest of the primates, over chimps. When human teach how to saw wood, use hummer to nail structures together and even tap liquid through a hose, they use what they have learnt in their wild life when they face such a situation. For example, It has been observed that an orangutan was building a protective structure to get out of the rain.

Second: Bottle nose Dolphins :They have progressive linguistic comprehensive skills that make them able to comprehend signs, general words as “ball”, and can also recognize sets of things that have similar characteristics. They are also self-aware about themselves as they can use mirrors to recognize marks that are placed unnoticeably on their bodies.

The Third: Chimpanzees:They learn and perform very creative tasks and they have a good memory. They can build what they need from the materials they have in very creative approach. Moreover, they can perform sign language to communicate with humans and they even teach this language to their infants without the assistance and interference of humans. In 2006, researches have discovered that chimps share 98% of the same genetic DNA as human.

The Fourth: Elephants:They can perform very complicated social structures in the animal kingdom as they have incredible intelligence. One indication for their intelligence is altruism which is sacrificing for the sake of the whole herd. They can also treat themselves by chewing certain types of leaves depending on their illness. The most amazing thing is that they can use their trunks as paintbrushes with which they are trained to make wonderful pieces of art.

Hey Guys Let’s Discover the

First Door: THE ANIMAL

WORLD.

We all think that we are the only smart species with brains and any

other is just inferior, you’ll now know that you’ve been mistaken.

Page 4: Scientific Project Magazine

4

The Fifth: Crow:They are one of the smartest birds at all, they are not only taught to speak like parrots but they can count, differ between complicated shapes and perform observational learning skills. One indication for their intelligence is that they throw the hard nuts and shells on the road to get crushed by the cars and enjoy what is inside.

The Sixth: African Grey Parrots:They are the most intelligent and sociable animals that they are sometimesconsidered to be part of your family. They can memorize and learn hundreds of words and sounds and use them to communicate with human beings. Some researches have shown that they are as intelligent as five-year-old child.

The Seventh: Pigs:They are one of the cleanest animals as they refuse to excrete near the place where they live and eat. They have also distinguished intelligence in the complex social life. For example, mother pigs sing to their piglets in their nursing. They also learn from each others and often work to trick each other.

The eighth: Rats:They are mentally met cognized, which is an ability that is found only in human and some primates. This means that they can use their sense of smell and hearing to detect land mines and bombs. Moreover, they are capable of determining human sputum samples that contain tuberculosis bacteria. They can also reveal some feelings as excitement, loss, stress and even remorse as their psychology is somehow similar to human.

The Ninth: Squirrel:Their intelligence is related to observing others and learning from their actions. It is usually related to stealing food so they are considered little thieves.

The tenth: Raccoon:What is unique about them that they have amazing hands (thumbs) that givethem the ability of using tools and solving problems by using their paws. They have great confidence and lack of fear that make them assure that they can handle in any difficult situation. They travel in groups and protect each other greatly.

How Do Mosquitoes Work?Ever been annoyed by those little frustrating insects? Ever wanted to sleep but couldn’t because of the annoying buzzing sound they make? Lets get to know all about how insects work!Mosquitoes are attracted by a multiple of things;chemical sensors: they feelcarbon dioxide and lactic acid upto 36 meters away. Mammalsand birds exhale these gases as part of their respiration. Certain chemicals in sweat also seem to attract mosquitoes (The more one sweats The more bites!)Visual sensors: if one is wearing clothing that contrasts with the background, mosquitoes can easily point you and start their attack. It's a good bet that anything moving is "alive", and therefore full of blood, that is their smart strategy.Heat sensors: Mosquitoes can detect heat, so they can find warm-blooded mammals and birds easily once they get close enough.

Studies show that only female mosquitoes bite. The female lands on your skin and sticks her proboscis into you (the proboscis is very sharp and thin, so you may not feel it going in). Her saliva contains proteins (anticoagulants) that prevent your blood from clotting. She sucks your blood into her abdomen The female lands on your skin and sticks her proboscis into you (the proboscis is very sharp and thin, so you may not feel it going in). Her saliva contains proteins (anticoagulants) that prevent your blood from clotting. She sucks your blood into her abdomen this saliva causes skin irritation and the itchy feeling in the area bitten. It usually lasts about 24 hours. One of the few ways to prevent mosquitoes from finding you is to confuse their chemical receptors with spraying the medicated sprays. So next time you’re stuck in your room with one of those obnoxious creatures, you know what to do!

Yes, Animals DO Communicate

In most l i fe l i fe aspects humans are deemed superior to other species. Yet studies showed that animals and humans share many characteristics in common, perhaps in their own ways.Like human animals communica te toge ther, th rough multiple ways .These consist of,firstly, gestures; representing off specific body parts or by body movements. Secondly, facial expressions, for instance, dogs stick up their ears when disconcerted. Moreover, when need to be fearsome they show off their teeth whi le growl ing.Thirdly, animals communicate using different voice pitches and frequencies: vocalization where every pitch level has different meanings.Fourthly and uncommonly their smell; mammals have certain organs (glands) that secretes odors. Cats for instance, leave scent marks to their relatives by smearing their forehead against things. Lastly, yet exceptionally, aquatic creatures have quite more unusual communication methods such as Bioluminescence and Electro communication. To sum it up, animals utilize all these ways of communication for multiple purposes; displaying signals for mating, making alerting calls for jeopardy and for expressing hunger are three examples. However, different purposes may be expressed by the alike gestures only with the very slight modification that we humans cannot spot out. That is why we cannot provide absolute truth about what animals communicate to each other.

Now It is time to play with he animals world

Your Beloved Panda will be Extinct SoonThe giant pandas are widely considered a very lovable, nonviolent creature. Who would not want to hug such a fluffy, huge, cute thing? The panda homeland is Western China; it is the most uncommon kind of bear. The giant pandas are born very small and then grows up to be the hugest kind of bears. “Newborn pandas are about the size of a stick of butter—about 1/900th the size of its mother—but can grow to up to 330 pounds as adults. They survive only on a type of bamboo that is in their homeland; they must eatlarge amounts of it every day. Why is the Giant Panda extinctive?First: Habitat loss:China’s Yangtze Basin region is the economic center of China, and is the giant panda’sprimary habitat. There are roads constructed in the forest which separate the pandas causing the lack of mating. Also, the bamboo in the forest, which the pandas survive on, becomes harder to reach. Although the country found more than fifty pandareserves in the country, only 61% of the Chinese pandas are protected in them.Second:Hunting:Hunting is still a threat that endangers species like the giant panda every day. Althoughthe law forbids hunting animals for their fur, especially pandas because they’re an extinctive species, hunters kill pandas accidentally while hunting other species.

Do you know how to achieve proper nutrition? No one can deny that all people are seeking for good and proper nutrition to promote health and prevent diseases. For good nutrition, there are seven categories of nutrients that the body needs, which are proteins, carbohydrates, fats, fibers, minerals, vitamins and water. These seven types must be eaten daily in certain amounts in order to maintain health. On the other hand, poor health is caused by the imbalance in eating amounts either by excess or deficiencies and also lack of exercise. These attitudes have a negative impact on the body and its function. Here I will give you some tips to have good and balanced diet in your daily life:

Do not skip meals: eat your 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) When you skip a meal, your body recognizes that it doesn’t have food to convert into energy. At that point your body goes into “survival” mode, slowing your metabolism and storing excess food or glucose as FAT. If your body is routinely fed, it will increase your metabolism, breaking down the fat since it thinks it doesn’t need it anymore.

Eat more vegetables and fruits: fruits and vegetables are very essentials to our bodies as they contain the essential vitamins, minerals and fibers. They are also low in calories so you can have healthy diet. Moreover, diets that depend mainly on vegetables and fruits may reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. As result of that, make sure to include vegetables and fruits in your daily diet at least five serving of them per day.

Choose more whole grains: Eating such grains as whole wheat bread and high –fibers cereals give the body the necessary amount of fibers. By this way, you can reduce the risk of some diseases as colon cancer and heart disease and It also helps you to control the blood cholesterol and blood sugar.

Drink water: water is very important, as all parts of your body need water to carry on its metabolism efficiently. It plays an essential role in regulating body temperature, transferring nutrients to cells, and getting rid of the wastes out of the body. It is recommended to drink at least from 9 to 13 cup of water daily

Hey Guys Let’s Discover the

Second Door We Have Today

that is All About Our Food.

Eat lean protein: Protein is the most dominant material in your body aside from water. Protein supplies the body with the essential amino acids that are necessary to build healthy tissues and to produce most of the enzymes that drive the metabolic rate in the body. There are 20 amino acids that enter in the protein where 12 of them are manufactured in the body and the other 8 must come from the food. Good sources of lean protein include dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt), soy products, meat, fish and poultry.

Exercise: You can practice any type of exercise you want as walking, swimming, bike riding and aerobics or even just exercising in your home if you do not have 20 minutes free in your day. That will improve your overall health and reduce the risk of some diseases as diabetes and heart diseases

And Here There

are More tips to

Achieve Proper

Nutrition !

Nutrients In Strawberries

• Strawberries are among the richest foods with vitamin C which is very important to the body because it contains antioxidants that help avert inflammation, viruses and infections. It also helps prevent heart-attacks and strokes, Alzheimer’s, autoimmune diseases and problems of the circulatory system.• Strawberries contain Potassium which is an essential mineral for the body to function properly. Along with other elements, Potassium works as an electrolyte in the body, a substance that conducts electricity. • Another type of vitamins, a type of Vitamin B, folate is found in strawberries. It is involved in the formation of red blood cells, and in the formation of genetic material in each and every cell. It is also very important for pregnant women.• Strawberries generally contain antioxidants that help prevent chronic diseases because they fight the free radical compounds. Strawberries are very rich with antioxidants.

Guys!

Take Care of Frizzy Drinks !

Have you ever thought of how fizzy drinks became essential? Have you ever thought that Coca-cola is considered " the pick-me up drink". It was stated that diet soft drinks may be associated with type 2 diabetes high blood pressure, abdominal obesity - what we call now metabolic syndrome. But ever crossed your minds that there is a relation between cardiovascular diseases and fizzy drinks? It is funny how we think that DIET drinks are better than the others because they do not include great amounts of sugar. My answer to you is to watch out from now on that as we drink fizzy beverages, the liver is presented with an overwhelming dose of sugar/diet sugar. The Liver cannot accept such huge amount by the usual metabolic pathway, so the excess amounts are shunted into alternative pathways which result in the production of fat.The liver itself starts to malfunction because it is filled out with fat; therefore, it becomes insulin resistant. It becomes deaf to the hormonal signal it receives from insulin, which is the substance that our body secretes to use sugar. The pancreas, which is responsible for secreting pancreatic juices that contain digestive enzymes that help in the absorption of nutrients, malfunctions because it fails to function properly resulting in diabetes. Unhealthy fats circulate in the blood and plug up the arteries that supply blood to the heart. When the arteries get blocked, the individual suffers from a heart attack. Finally, a portion of the heart muscle downstream from the blocked arteries as a result of the lack of blood flow. Health is your real wealth. We need to stay away from what brings us harm; we need to give more attention to what we eat and what we drink teens.

What Is Pica eating Disorder? It is an eating disorder that really not related to the normal food that all of us know and eat it in our daily life but about eating non-nutritive things as baking soda, paper, glue, chalk, dirt or sand. The origin of the word “pica” comes from the Latin word “magpie” which is a bird that is known for eating anything and everything. This disorder is very familiar with pregnant women, whose symptoms usually disappear after giving birth or those who are greatly stressed especially during making a diet and not having sufficient nutrients. This disorder can also be connected with the deficiency of minerals as iron or zinc. Moreover, this disorder could be normal in some societies and communities as they consider that part of their traditions and customs. That occurs in some parts of Africa and United State Of America. It can also linked to people who have psychiatric and mental disturbances such as hysteria, mental retardation, obsessive-compulsive disorder and schizophrenia. Moreover, this disorder is also related to poverty, as people do not have enough economic resources. It is also common in children, statistically 10_20% before adulthood. That is due to children do not really have the awareness about they swallow and eat and that also occur due to parent neglecting. Children also sometimes imitate household pets like cats and dogs that chew on all sorts of domestic objects so they are affected by their attitudes. The complications of that disorder mainly are mainly intestinal infections and parasites, malnutrition, poisoning, abdominal pains and dental injury. That disorder can seriously cause death if you are eating very toxic substance.

What are FOOD CRAVINGS?A cupcake is calling you.

It is a normal occurring to lots of people, especially pregnant women or women who are on the verge of their menstrual cycle, usually with foods that are rich in sugars and fats ( like chocolate for the most common example!). Some people may say that it is "all in your head", and new research shows that they are in fact correct. According to Elaine Magee (MPH, RD) several specific areas in our brain are responsible for the continuous coming of food cravings, areas that are responsible for memory and sensing pleasure. The hippocampus, insula, and caudate are three regions that are activated during food craving (Monell Chemical Senses Center). Brain tests suggest that memory areas of the brain (which are responsible for associating a specific food with a reward) are actually more important to food cravings than the brain's reward center, as they link the certain type of food with the rewarding feeling they got when they first ate it. "Food cravings activate the same reward circuits in the brain as cravings for drugs or alcohol, according to functional MRI scans, tests that measure brain activity by detecting changes in blood flow." (Melinda Beck). Other than physiological reasons for food cravings, they often have something to do with desire and emotion. "Food cravings arise to satisfy emotional needs, such as calming stress and reducing anxiety," says Drewnowski, a well-known researcher on taste and food preferences.

The Effect of Caffeine

Caffeine is well known for increasing our alertness but our majority isn’t familiar with the underlying reason. Adenosine, a hormone, inhibits the secretions of several neurotransmitters [] , most essentially, acetylcholine, which is the main substance causing the transmission of action potentials. []Caffeine blocks out adenosine receptors therefore, no inhibition to acetylcholine release, [] consequently faster action potentials causing faster responses to stimuli.[] What is more, caffeine has a positive impact on exercise. It causes faster mobilization of fatty acids, which are the most energy releasing biological molecules []. Thus when burnt a person can sustain an intense exercise for a longer time period. On the other hand, caffeine has negative impacts. One of them is Gastrointestinal distress, caffeine induces the release of stress hormones, which abruptly increase blood pressure and stimulate the danger alertness state. Accordingly the blood supply reverses its route to muscles instead of the digestive system, leading to less digestion, and consequently less absorption rate.[31] Lastly and worse of all, the addiction fact of caffeine, which when attempted to be withdrawn have negative symptoms such as irritability, loss of focus & headaches.

No one can resist Chocolate and Caffeine!

Stimulating Chocolate

Wide known, chocolate induces a good feeling to our mind & body, yet people aren’t familiar with the underlying reason. Some say its just psychological, however several studies have shown that chocolate ingredients have hands in. The more cocoa concentrated the chocolate is, the more benefits it has. In USA chocolates that contain less than 10% of cocoa aren’t considered chocolates at all.Firstly, chocolate decreases blood pressure, owing to Theobromine that it contains, which acts as a blood vessels vasodilator, therefore causing smoother blood flow. Moreover, studies showed that the mixture of polyphenols found in chocolate diminish the risks associated with coronary heart diseases deaths. Thirdly, the catabolism of Anandamide (a chemical found in the brain) induces a ‘feel good’ sensation. Chocolate contains anandamide & other chemicals that slows down the breaking down process, thus elongating the euphoric feeling. Actually if you eat 25 pounds of chocolate, you can turn high exactly as if you are smoking marijuana. Furthermore, Chocolate has a set of Amphetamines that a r e a t y p e o f s t i m u l a n t s , w h i c h h e i g h t e n neurotransmitters’ activity, such as serotonin & endorphins. Strikingly, chocolate is named the Love Drug due to its Phenylethylamine composition, a chemical generated by our brains when we fall in love resulting in pulse rate elevation. Simply the carbohydrates & fats in chocolates energize our bodies. SO! If you’re depressed, want to feel good or want to own the race, eat chocolate but go dark as you can!

Taste and smell

1) Bring a piece of raw potato and a piece of apple.2) Hold your nose.3) Take a bite of the piece of raw potato and a bite of the piece of apple.4) Try to tell the difference in the taste. You think you still can tell the difference? Repeat the last two steps but while closing your eyes. You can barely tell the difference in taste between raw potato and apple while holding your nose. (“Invitation”) So, why are the two senses directly related the way they are? This is because what is commonly known as taste is in fact “flavor”. Flavor is a combination of taste, smell, texture (touch sensation) and other physical features (e.g. temperature) (“The whole package”). While eating, the reception the taste buds gets involves a reaction to the odors the food we eat has. We recognize the taste whether it is bitter sweet or salty based on the odor we smell. The relationship between the two senses is important for one to enjoy food and drink. Moreover, the disorder of this relation can cause diseases e.g. obesity.

EFFECTS OF CELL PHONE RADIATIONDespite the fact that almost everybody knows that using the cell phone constantly is harmful, little seem to know the serious implications that are associated with it. Studies show that the electromagnetic radiation emitted from these double-edged device can in fact affect our normal functioning of the brain. Researchers have shown that radiation from a 50-minute cell phone exposure can speed up glucose metabolism, an established measure of brain activity. It has been discovered that the parts of the brain that that were most highly exposed to phone radiation had the largest increase in metabolic activity (Microwave News). How to decrease the risks:• Use a head set head or speaker.• Hold phone away from your body and ears.• Text whenever you can. Texting emits less radiation than talking.• Call when the signal is strong. Weak signals means the phone has to exert more energy in trying to sustain the quality, so it emits more radiation.

Effect of Cold WeatherLooking at the medical literature, it is easy to see that winter brings several infections such as influenza and other respiratory ones. Ever thought of any different one? Surprisingly, Winter can be a risky season for heart patients. Hundreds of thousands of heart attacks documented that 53% heart attack cases were reported in winter more than summer. Cold weather narrows arteries and raises blood pressure, stressing the heart. There are several factors involved. For starters, cold temperatures can cause a rise in your blood pressure along with increasing levels of proteins that raise your risk of blood clots. When the weather is cold, your heart must also work harder to maintain body heat and your arteries tighten, which restricts blood flow and reduces the oxygen supply to your heart. When we combine all of these factors ,a heart attack could be the result. Heart attack rates climb in the winter.Watch out for your health and wear heavy clothes.

Effect of LaughterIs laughter a kind of exercise. Most of us think of laughter as a response to something funny. In fact laughter is fundamentally a physical action. “Laughter involves the repeated, forceful exhalation of breath from the lungs,” says Robin Dunbar, a professor of evolutionary psychology at Oxford, who led the study. The muscles of the diaphragm have to work very hard when you laugh. Have you ever heard of the phrase “laugh until it hurts? That pain isn’t metaphoric; prolonged laughing can be painful and exhausting. When you laugh, you aren't just making sounds ,your whole body is engaged in the laughter. Muscles stretch in our face and body; The blood pressure and pulse rate increases, consequently, we breathe faster and more oxygen is sent to the body tissues. Therefore, Laughing is the inner jogging of body organs. Laughter burns calories but of course the actual burn is far less than physical exercise. Laughing makes us healthier and improves our quality of life We give 13 facial muscles to produce a smile. By the increase of blood flow, we give this happy glow and have reddish cheeks. As we laugh very hard, our tear ducts are activated. With the intake and expulsion of air, our mouth gives the " haha" sound. Moreover, our vocal chords produce those sounds of laughing. The diaphragm moves up to fill the lungs with air and then release it through the voice box to make the sound. While the process of laughing take place, the abs contract, working out the shoulder and leaving muscles to relax. All those facial, eye, mouth, vocal chord and belly effects provided emotional and physical release. Laughing 100 times is equivalent to 15 minutes exercising on a bike.

Effect of Loud MusicIf you are a teenager, it will come to you as no surprise that the chief argument between parents and their children is the constant phrase “TURN THAT DOWN!”It is normal that the older you get the less your ability to hear becomes, it's a natural consequence of aging. But what's not natural is that a lot young people nowadays are facing this problem too early, mainly as a result of putting their earphones in and boosting the volume up high Researches show that noise above 110 decibels (unit of loudness) can cause temporary hearing loss or tinnitus (ringing in the ear and head). The loud noise can damage the coating around the nerve cells in your ears, called myelin sheath, which prevents the nerve cells from relaying auditory signals to the brain. These are repaired overnight, if the exposure wasn’t severe. However, if one is exposed to loud music for a long and consistent duration, like worker in drilling or jet-engine fixing, it is very possible to have a permanent hearing loss, because the myelin sheaths wouldn’t have the time to replenish, as they are constantly being damaged with a rate much higher than their ability to repair.

Let’s Enjoy Some Scientific Jokes !• Biology is the only science in which multiplication is the same

thing as division.• The Unjust Salary Theorem asserts that scientists can never

earn as much as sales people. This theorem is proved as follows. Start by using the physics formula Power = Work / Time Now you probably have heard that Knowledge is Power and Time is Money. Substitute these tautologies into the formula for power to obtain Knowledge = Work/Money. Solving for Money, one finds Money = Work/Knowledge.Therefore, the less you know, the more you make.

Cancer Often some body cells mutate, those cells are normally destroyed by our immune system, causing no problem since most cells can be replaced. However, cancerous cells resist destruction and usually escapes. Yet the question is what causes cancerous cells. Cancers are a form of uncontrolled cell division, this happens when a person is in contact with intense carcinogens (factors that increases the chance of cancer). Predominately they are environmental factors. First of these is, ionizing radiations, these are decayed radioactive elements that induces the generation of damaging ions inside the cells which breaks DNA strands. One type of ionizing radiations is ultraviolet light. The increase of ozone layer depletion is one of the main underlying causes of cancer nowadays, since more UV penetrates the Earth’s surface. Secondly, some chemicals are carcinogenic these too damage DNA molecules. Another environmental carcinogen is the virus, it carries mutated gene forms that control cell division, and these are called oncogenes. On the other hand, hereditary predisposition is a cause for cancer as well. However, a focus must be put here because we do not inherit cancer, but we inherit the vulnerability to carcinogens. This diagram shows the exact process of the uncontrolled cell division, which ends up with cancer.

New finding to Catch Cancer by Using Magnets !Cancer is so difficult to be treated when it actually spreads through the body where the cancer cells spread through the bloodstream or the lymphatic system from the original primary tumor to form new secondary one in other organs as the Lung, liver or brain. This process is called metastasis. Concerning that, scientists have discovered a new way to decrease the spread of cancer by pulling and catching migrating cells. Researches have been using magnetic nano particles that can be attached to cancer cells. They remove fluids from the abdomen of the patient that contain cancer cells and introduce the magnetic nano particles. Then, they can use a magnetic field to pull out both the nano particles and the cancer cells attached to them. After that, the cleaned fluid without the nano particles returns to the patient body again. This process has the same idea of kidney dialysis where blood is filtered and return to the patient again. This technique has the potential to support other cancer treatment as surgery, chemotherapy and radiation but it has not been tried yet on humans and scientists suggest that the clinical trials will be soon.

6 Simple Things that helps Preventing Hepatitis C

1- Do not share tooth brushesMany people suffer gum bleedings that maycontaminate their tooth brushes. This may veryeasily transfer the virus to the sharing person.

2- Use a condom.Virus C can be transferred throughsexual activity.

3- Do not share shavers. As shavers usually may injure the skin andget contaminated with blood, one should usehis/her own shaver not only to prevent Virus C, but also to prevent many diseases that can be transferred through contaminated blood.

4- Do not share nail clippers.Like shavers, nail clippers can easily becontaminated with diseased blood.

5- Avoid using intravenous drugs. Also, using used needles or medical toolsfor any reason can directly cause Hepatitis C.

6- Choose your piercing/tattoo studio well. For mainly the same reason, if the tattooingor piercing is done improperly it can transmit Hepatitis C.

What is Peptic Ulcer?A peptic ulcer is a defect in the lining of the stomach or the first part of the small intestine, an area called the duodenum. It is defined as mucosal erosions equal to or greater than 0.5 cm. As many as 70–90% of such ulcers are associated with Helicobacter pylori, a spiral-shaped bacterium that lives in the acidic environment of the stomach; however, only 40% of those cases go to a doctor.Four times as many peptic ulcers arise in the duodenum—the first part of the small intestine, just after the stomach—as in the stomach itself. About 4% of gastric ulcers are caused by a malignant tumor, so multiple biopsies are needed to exclude cancer. Duodenal ulcers are generally benignThe following also raise your risk for peptic ulcers:• Drinking too much alcohol• Regular use of aspirin, • Smoking cigarettes or chewing tobacco• Being very ill, such as being on a breathing machine• Having radiation treatments

We Need to Look After Our Health Teens

What is Eczema?Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic, inflammatory, non-contagious skin condition. Eczema is sometimes genetic. The skin becomes reddish, very dry and itchy. It may also bleed, in severe cases. Eczema is more common in early childhood until the person is 6 years old. Statistics:• 20% of people get eczema before they are 5 years old.• More than 50% of people who suffer from eczema face it in the first year of their life.• Eczema is the most common disease between Australasians.Symptoms:• Itchy skin (on different levels).• Rough skin.• Excretion of fluids from the skin.• Inflamed, red skin. What causes eczema?• Genetic factors—if the parent once had eczema, there is an 80% probability it will transfer to the child.• Specific types of food or alcohol that many people eat every day.• Also daily stress can cause eczema.• Things that people are allergic to, from types of food to pets or just dust.• Very hot weather.• Humidity.• Smoking.

Let’s discover the fifth:

OUR BRAIN. Let’s get

know some knowledge

about an organ in our

bodies, we know

nothing of.

If you find yourself a

genius then open the last

door

Let Us Discover First Some Facts about Our Brain

     The  belief  that  we  use  only   10%   of   our  brain   is   a   myth  because   each   part  h a s   i t s   o w n  important  function.

Your  brain  has  100,000  miles  worth  of  blood  vessels  enough  to  circle  the  earth  four  times.

20%  of  the  oxygen  you  inhale  is  used  by  the  brain.

The  size  of  the  brain  does  not  matter.  Einstein  ‘s  brain  weighted  1,230  grams  although  the  average  male  brain  weighs  1,360  grams.  That  means  that  he  is  below  the  average!

When  you  sleep,  you  are  virtually  paralyzed  because  your  brain  creates  a  hormone  to  prevent  you  from

         acting  out  your  dream

Your  brain  is  the  mostfatty  organ  in  your  body.and  is  made  up  of  about75%  water.

There  are  no          pain  receptors          in  the  brain  so

the  brain  can  feel  no  pain.

Excessive  stress  could  alter  the  brain  cells,  brain  structure  and  its  function.

Men  process  information  primarily  from  the  left  side  but  women  tend  to  use  both  sides  at  the  same  time.

The brain has two hemispheres, one for analytical thought and the other for creative thoughts.

Why  do  we  forget  our  dreams?Although it may seem like we're dreaming from the instant we fall asleep until the moment we wake up, the average duration of a dream is actually much shorter. (ask.yahoo.com)According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, people spend an average of two hours dreaming each night. Dreams "almost always" occur during REM sleep, which as the dictionary states it, is "a stage in the normal sleep cycle during which dreams occur and the body undergoes marked changes including rapid eye movement, loss of reflexes, and increased pulse rate and brain activity. Also called paradoxical sleep."In general when you dream, all parts of the brain are working. Whether you are able to remember your dreams or not depends greatly on your personality. However, most of us forget about 95% of our dreams because we are not usually paying attention to them. Studies show that people who are genuinely interested in dreaming tend to recall more of their dreams, and with far greater accuracy, than those who usually don’t concentrate while doing routinely tasks and those who don’t have a good visual imagination. One way to enhance your recalling of dreams is to write them down, with as much detail as possible, as soon as you wake up. That way, you are motivated to concentrate while you sleep and by time you will realize that your attentiveness while dreaming has improved and you are able to remember your dreams more.

The hormonal guide towards Male & Female

Brains In the nineteenth century scientists believed that women had less mental capacity than men. This notion was instigated due to the fact that male brains are 9% larger in size than females’. However, females have the same number of brain cells of that of males, just more compressed in a smaller space. Thanks to technology fMRI & PET scans offers us insights of the human brain while solving problems, recalling memories, falling in love, feeling anxiety & so on. They showed that males & females brains are different since conception. The tiny difference between females’ cells lacking the Y chromosome, while making a human a male, is magnified when different hormones start to kick in. Hormones guide almost everything that humans do, commencing from social & protective behaviors to aggressive & sexual ones; their effects on the brain are major. In males the 3 main behavior-driving hormones are testosterone; known for being Zeus of all male hormones, vasopressin, which triggers heroism, defensive attitude and protecting relatives & finally MIS which is called the defeminizer; it helps building the male reproductive organs and brain circuits. While in females they are estrogen, simply the queen, progesterone, which in many cases reverse the effect of estrogen & oxytocin that triggers the motherly behavior in adulthood. Furthermore, men & women use divergent brain circuits to accomplish the same tasks, those circuits differ in size between males & females. The brain’s architecture of both males & females isn’t set in stone at birth nor when reaching puberty, however it resumes to alternate throughout different life stages.

Emotional Love Affecting Your BrainStudy Shows a Link Between Intense Feelings of Love and Reward Areas of the Brain. he euphoric “high” that accompanies the passion-filled, early days of romantic love is a common pop music theme, but is it just a metaphor or is love really like a drug? When researchers examined the question, they found that intense feelings of romantic love affect the brain in the same way drugs like cocaine or powerful pain relievers do.“The reason people are so attracted to cocaine is that it activates the area of the brain that makes you feel good,” researcher Arthur Aron, PhD, tells WebMD. “The same reward area is activated when people are experiencing the intense desire of romantic love.” The frontal cortex, vital to judgment, shuts down when we fall in love. MRI scans show this de-activation occurs only when someone is shown a photo of the person they adore, causing them to suspend all criticism or doubt. Semir Zeki, professor of neuro-aesthetics at University College London, says: ‘When you look at someone you are passionate about, some areas of the brain become active,’ he says. ‘But a large part is de-activated, the part that plays a role in judgment.’ Studies have shown brain chemical dopamine is at higher levels in those in love. Dopamine is key to our experiences of pleasure and pain, linked to desire, addiction, euphoria, and a surge may cause such acute feelings of reward that it makes love hard to give up.A side effect of rising dopamine levels is a reduction in another chemical, serotonin, a key hormone in our moods and appetite.
