Scientific superiority Chris Cook , 15, a sophomore at Martin County High School makes some adjustments to an oscillator , used to measure wave form , for his science project " Catch the Ultimate Wave" that attempts to prove the existence of gravity waves. Cook and 471 other students from Martin County, grades 3 through 12, representing 20 public and private schools competed in the 1997 Martin County Regional Science and Engineering Fair at the Treasure Coast Square mall in Jensen Beach.
Winners who will go on to state competition at the Broward Corwention Center in Fort Lauderdale are: from Martin County High School: Elizabeth White , Alison Robbins, Andrew Irwin , Jennifer Reynolds, Lisa Reinke , Tyler Collins , Alan Tesson and Chris Cook; from South Fork High School : Carrie Gratz and Rob Hough.
Winners who will go on to international competition in Louisville , Ky. are Irwin and Cook.
