Scientific superiority Chris Cook , 15, a sophomore at Martin County High School makes some adjustments to an oscillator , used to measure wave form , for his science project " Catch the Ultimate Wave" that attempts to prove the existence of gravity waves. Cook and 471 other students from Martin County, grades 3 through 12, representing 20 public and private schools competed in the 1997 Martin County Regional Sci­ence and Engineering Fair at the Treasure Coast Square mall in Jensen Beach.

Winners who will go on to state competition at the Bro­ward Corwention Center in Fort Lauderdale are: from Mar­tin County High School: Elizabeth White , Alison Robbins, Andrew Irwin , Jennifer Reynolds, Lisa Reinke , Tyler Col­lins , Alan Tesson and Chris Cook; from South Fork High School : Carrie Gratz and Rob Hough.

Winners who will go on to international competition in Louisville , Ky. are Irwin and Cook.
