1. Get deeper insights from your Scopus search results
with SciVal
• It is now possible to create a Publication set from a Scopus search query with just
a few clicks and perform further in-depth analysis in the SciVal Overview and
Benchmarking modules
- Perform a basic analysis on a specific set of publications in Scopus
- Seamlessly transfer those publications to SciVal as a Publication Set for an instant
performance snapshot.
- Further analyze the Publication Set to see the top researchers, institutions, publications and
more
- Analyze the impact of the Publication Set in the Benchmarking module
Run a search in Scopus, narrow it
down to 2,000 publications, save it
to My list and click on ‘Export your
list to SciVal’

Create any entity once and easily share with any groups or individuals within
your institution
• Provides an instant analysis starting point for your colleagues
• Directly share with your regular contacts - Enhanced sharing options allows
you to easily set up and maintain invitation lists
• Delegate entity creation and distribution rights to support staff
Research entities = All the entities created by you (research areas, publication set, researchers,
groups of institutions/researchers/countries.

• Export has been implemented in Trends
• Increased export fields for publication lists give greater flexibility for further analyses

• The 334 Scopus journal classifications have been converted into Research Areas
• Easily view the performance of any Scopus journal classification in Overview and Benchmarking
and use them as a benchmark against your research

• Improves the usability of the define process and makes researchers more
discoverable in My SciVal through tagging
- The tab for validate publications is always visible (optional)

• Researchers readily available in SciVal are shown with their full names, when the data is available (competencies and publications windows excluded)

8. Back-up map provider in Collaboration and Trends
• SciVal now supports a second map provider for the maps in Collaboration and Trends. This means
that if Google maps ends up being blocked or unavailable, it still is possible to access our maps
• The selection mechanism of Google maps or Map Quest is automatic. SciVal recognizes if you
can access the Google maps and if not, you get Map Quest automatically.
