The SCOPE in IFMSA-Palestine has been growing, we have been working since around 10 years, and
we always get a good feedback from incomings visiting Palestine. We do all our effort to make your
stay useful and enjoyable and to leave a good impression about Palestinian.
In addition to the benefits you receive from your clerkship, there are various social programs in which
you may be interested, ranging from wild night life in Ramallah to peaceful religious old city tours.
Our SCOPE program includes clerkships, tours, workshops about Palestine and other things are
included in this document.

was officially established in 1956. It is a Palestinian non-profit, non-
governmental organization that provides diversified humanitarian services in
the Holy Land in accordance with its bylaws, without discrimination by color,
religion, creed, or political belief.

Rafedia Surgical Hospital, Nablus:
A major governmental hospital for surgery, it is the largest in Northern West
Bank and receives patients from across West Bank and Gaza. The hospital
provides health services predominantly to poor Palestinian who cannot afford
to seek medical care elsewhere.

Nablus is the second largest city in the West Bank. Nablus is known around the world for its exquisite olives, olive oil, from which the most famous soap is made in Nablus. In the Old City, one can wander for hours through the market and taste the most delicious sweets KNAFEH.

Jacobs Well: the site where Jesus asked a
Samaritan woman to draw water from a well for
him.
Sebastia: the Capital of the Romans in Palestine.
Also you have to try the Turkish bath and see the soap factories.

Jerusalem The Heart of The Holy Land
Jerusalem has been known for centuries as a center for the three
religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Isalm. It is a city with amazingly
broad human diversity, representing different races, religions, and ethnic
background. Jerusalem towers over the cities by being a spiritual city.
For faithful, a visit to Jerusalem is a powerful affirmation of faith.

SOCIAL PROGRAM
One of the majestic sites in Jericho is the Monastery of St. George,
carved out of a canyon wall overlooking the Wadi Qelt gorge. This
Greek Orthodox monastery was originally built in the fifth century as a
spiritual center for hermits.
Jericho is near the Dead Sea, which is more than 400 meters
below sea level. Jesus Christ walked through the streets of
Jericho during his several visits to the town. It is a wonderful area
for touring monasteries and historical sites.

geological formation, represented by the natural variability of each
ecosystem type, and by the substantial variation in species, soil,
geology and landform of the different areas that are enclosed by the
basin.

continuously inhabited towns in
the world. It is believed that
Adam and Eve lived in Hebron
after their expulsion from the
Garden of Eden.

houses the tombs of the
Patriarchs, dominates the city
center’s landscape.

Hebron
A few miles south of Jerusalem lies the city of Bethlehem. Christians around
the world know it as the little town where Jesus Christ was born. Many
sacred Christian sites, churches, and monasteries are located in the city. A
major attraction is the Church of the Nativity at Manger Square, built over
the cave where Jesus Christ was born. The adjoining Church of St.
Catherine possesses marvelous wood carvings of the stations of the cross.
