Before the GA: Preparations & Deadlines

This is a really important part since everything needs to be ready for us to make the best out of the sessions! Before going you need to check several topics:

1. Voting Rights – To receive your Voting Right you need to have:

1. Submit your NORE report.2. Update your Research Projects Database. 3. Submit your SCORE Late CA Statistics (LCAS) Form b.4. Review and correct your personal information on ifmsa.net.5. Update your NMO Exchange Conditions.

Check your NMO Voting Status here:

https://docs.google.com/a/ifmsa.org/spreadsheets/d/1f2D1G2P7Li9-dCRAsAA-4iT2R5d084IjTqXatzrOpzng/edit#gid=0

Your vote is important and losing it is taking the voice of your NMO on the Voting Procedures that we will have, and more importantly, you won’t be able to sign any contracts for the next exchange season!

Don’t forget to bring your Voting Card with you!

2. SCORE Supervising Board Candidatures

According to the SCORE Bylaws, 3 members of the SCORE SB are elected at the August Meet-ing, by the SCORE Working Committee (SCORE sessions - NMOs with voting rights) for one year.

All candidates must have their NMO support. All interested candidates must send a Technical Data Card and the Candidature Form by the 26th March, 23h 59 GMT to [email protected]

3. SCORE Bylaws ChangesMake sure to read throught all proposals. You can find them here:

The purpose of the Contract Fair is to sign contracts for the next exchange season. The official SCORE Contract Form has been shared on the NORE servers for use by the NOREs.

• You can only sign contracts with NMOs that are officially SCORE active with Voting Rights. A list of the SCORE-active NMOs is sent to the NORE servers:

https://docs.google.com/a/ifmsa.org/spreadsheets/d/1f2D1G2P7Li9-dCRAsAA-4iT2R5d084IjTqXatzrOpzng/edit#gid=0

• Check if your NMO has penalties for signing contracts (email sent by the SB regarding Late CAs Satistics)

• The number of unilateral units you sign cannot exceed 40% of the total incoming units of your NMO exchanges. NMOs willing to exceed this limit must receive the approv-al from the rest of the NOREs on August Meeting. A written proposal, signed by the NMO President and stating the specific reason(s) for exemption, must be sent to the SCORE Director. It will then be presented and voting upon during the SCORE sessions.

• Each NMO will have its own table at the fair. The table must never be left unattended and so at least 2 people are required; One to go from table to table looking for the NOREs they want to sign contracts with and the other to stay at their NMO table and receive the NOREs who come looking for them.

The following items are a must-bring:• Enough Contract Forms (It’s usually wise to bring extra); You can print your ECs on the back.• NORE official stamp.• List of all NMOs with whom you have already negotiated with.

You may also bring along the following items:• National flag.• Pamphlets, badges, stickers and any promotional stuff you can think off.• T-shirts or unique costumes; Make sure people can recognize you in a long distance.• Sweets and delicacies.

Joint Standing Committee SessionsBecause we couldn’t stop spreading our awesomeness alone, it is time to join the other Standing Committees for some joint sessions. You’ll be able to participate in sessions such as:

Healthcare in Danger‘’ Medical ethics is defined as a system of moral principles that apply values and judgments to the practice of medicine. With an increase incidence of violence towards health care workers and facilitates, the medi-cal ethics is under threat. Health care professionals are within a dilemma where they either have to assure their own safety or fulfill the medical ethics. IFMSA have joined hands with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), with our joint aim to increase awareness among medical students concerning this threat to medic ethics and its violation of International Humanitarian Law. This joint session is the launch our collaboration with ICRC and it would be our pleasure to welcome you. After this one and a half hour introduction you will possess basic knowledge on the topic and be introduced into possibilities of further involvements.’’

Interprofessional Education‘’ Have you ever heard about interprofessional education? It’s education that happens when students of different professions learn about, from and with each other. Why do we talk about it? It has been shown that interprofessional education not only increases their later clinical practise, but also improves the ability to face complex issues and work in a team. Unfortunately this mean of education is often forgotten, that

11

Page 13: SCORE Survival Kit - AM14

www.ifmsa.org

is why we as medical students should demand for change. In this workshop you would get a great intro-duction on what interprofessional education is, discuss and share the best practises. Also we would get a change to develope some ideas on how to raise awareness and ask for the best education we can get!”.

Student Mobility“Discussing mobility of students during the curriculum (electives, exchanges, etc), their value to the curric-ulum and how IFMSAians could lobby for increased mobility, chartering opportunities”

Medical Science and Research‘’ The joint session Medical Science and Research will be facilitated by the Small Working Group that has been working on this topic since very recently. Topics that will pass by are Open Access, opportunities for medical students within Science and what IFMSA can do within this field “

Neglected Tropical Diseases‘’ Uniting Medical Students on action to raise awareness of the NTDs and call for Action on behalf of Medical Students and Stakeholders worldwide..’’

SRHR ‘’ Defining sexual rights and how are the violations of these human rights linked to the sexual health. Discussions about sexual and reproductive health rights as violation of human rights, focusing primarily on LGBT rights, women’s rights and abuses.

Sexchange‘’ Exchanges can be sexy, and this joint session is set to prove that. Do you know the sexiest locations in the world? Do you know where sexology began, or where there is a sex museum for you to learn about sexual and reproductive health?
