In the September 19th issue, Billboard will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the band Scorpions, one of the oldest rock bands in the world.
Scorpions was founded in Germany in 1965 by Rudolf Schenker. The group has released 18 studio albums and has played over 5,000 concerts across the globe. They have sold over 100 million recordings that include singles, albums and video releases that have reached gold, platinum and multi-platinum status. The band’s best selling album, Crazy World, features the single “Wind of Change”, a ballad about political change during the fall of the Berlin Wall.
In celebration of their 50th anniversary, the band recently released Return To Forever, an album that includes newly recorded versions of never-published songs and also new material written between 2011 and 2014.
