The Glasgow School of Art and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) collaboration

• 220 students studying at GSofA Singapore, with consistently high application rates to the programmes

• Year 3 and 4 of BA (Hons) Communication Design and BA (Hons) Interior Design in collaboration with our partners SIT

• Programmes allow progression from Diploma to Degree • Programme identical to Glasgow programme BUT IMPORTANTLY allows for cultural

context

• 7 full time, permanent members of GSA teaching staff are based in Singapore • Programme delivery is in collaboration with colleagues on both campuses - shared

teaching material and shared projects with staff travelling to both campuses to deliver programme content and share good practice within studio based teaching

• Studios are based in purpose built accommodation provided by SIT at Temasek Polytechnic campus

• Studios, computer workshop facilities, lecture theatres, seminar rooms, student support and student social areas are all provided to meet GSA specifications and mirror facilities for students based in Glasgow

• Access to additional lecture theatres, the library, specialist workshops, social spaces that include cafes, restaurants, sports facilities including an Olympic size swimming pool are all available to GSA students based on Temask Polytechnic campus

• All students take part in a 3 week Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP) based in Glasgow – experiencing student life, creative culture and the rich history Glasgow and Scotland has to offer.

• The OIP programme includes studio based projects, a range of visiting industry speakers, field trips to professional design studios in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

“I really enjoyed the cultural exchange and of course the weather. The lecturers and student ambassadors were very knowledgeable,

helpful and approachable, making this OIP extremely pleasant. I feel generally the people in Glasgow are friendly and chatty. The city's

pace is also slower which was great. I'll be leaving for London tomorrow to start the Eurotour and I'm more sad about leaving Glasgow than excited about what's ahead. Glasgow has me.” -

• 2014 saw the first graduating cohort from GSA Singapore, and an outstanding Degree Show attended by friends, family and representatives from across Singapore's creative industries

• To date, over 90% of Interior Design graduates from GSA Singapore have been successful in securing employment in the Interior Design industry in Singapore

International Foundation Programme

• Legacy of previous relationship with CAFA and China

• First year equivalent programme, students progressing into 2nd year

• Studio practice, critical theory and English Language

• Allows students to improve their IELTS scores and make informed decisions regarding onward progression

• Supports International Recruitment, growing the pool of potential applicants

• Allows applicants to improve their language to better cope with degree level study through an immersive programme
