Learning Standard : 1.1.3, 1.3.1 Learning Outcomes : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes and sing songs. 2. Able to listen to and demonstrate understanding of oral texts by: (a) asking simple Wh-Questions (b) answering simple Wh-Questions Teaching Aids : Laptop, LCD projector, speaker, cue cards, mah- jong paper and pictures of animal, origami paper and video song.

pictures of animal, origami paper and video song.

Set Induction(5 minutes)

Suggested questions:

-Can you name some of the

animal on the board?

1. Project pictures of animals on board.

2. Ask questions about the animals

3. Play the sound of animals and pupils

guess the answers.

Presentation(15 minutes)

Move your body like animals!

Suggested verbs:

-“hop”, “run”, “fly”

Suggested Wh-questions:

-What is the title?

-What animals are in the song?

-What verb do you see?

1. Ask pupils some of the verbs that they

had learnt in the previous lesson.

2. Teach the new verbs and pupils have

to do the actions.

3. Paste a song chart “If You Happy and

You Know It” on the board.

4. Ask Wh-questions to the pupils.

5. Ask pupils to find the verbs that are

mentioned in the song.

6. Pupils do the action.

Practice(20 minutes)

Let’s Sing Together!

Song:

“If You Happy and You Know

It”

1. Play the video song “If You Happy and

You Know It”.

2. Demonstrate on how to sing the song.

3. Pupils sing without teacher’s guidance.

4. Point out the verb and pupils do the

action.

5. Pupils sing the song again with actions.

Production(15 minutes)

Origami time!

Activity:

Make three animals origami –

rabbit, cat and bird.

1. Play the video “How to Make Animals

Origami”.

2. Explain the stages clearly to the

pupils.

3. Pupils make the animals’ origami with

teacher’s guidance.

4. After finish, use the origami as the

decorations of the class.

Closure(5 minutes)

Recapping lesson

Suggested question:

-What animal hops?

-What action does a bird do?

1. Recap about what actions that animals

can do.

2. Highlight moral value – one should love

all animals and does not hurt them.
