Purposeofthevessel

Nautical taxi. Maintenance of sea passenger lines with a length of 20 ÷ 120 km. Thevesselwillcompetewithferriesduetotriplethespeedoftrafficandamoreflexiblescheduleofflights.Themostprofitableareflightswiththeextentof80÷100km,whenbusinessvisitsbyferrydonotfitintooneworkingday.

Also,theboatmaybeofinteresttofansofactivewaterrecreationasaclosedhydrocyclehydrofoil.

Theboatcreatesanewnicheofwatertransport,characterizedby:

-Highmobility,thankstosmalldimensions(auto-size);

-theabilitytotransportpassengersona1.5meterwaveataspeedof45km/hwithlivingconditions higher than classic gliding boatswith "deep V" or any otherwater vehicles atcomparablespeed;

-higheconomicindicatorsincomparisonwithallsimilarinspeedtypesofvessels;

- commercial attractiveness: the overall length of 8 m significantly reduces the cost ofparkingandmaintenanceinmostmarinasintheEuropeanUnionandinothercountries

Withthesamedisplacement(2tons),andthesamelengthoftheboat(8meters),theSeaSpireboatwillneed150h.p.engine(currently,the200h.p.ischosentoprovidetheabilityforcruisingonthe1,5metershighwaves).Initsturn,theglidingspeedboatofthesamedimensionswillneed250h.p.

Herewith, while cruising on the 1 meter high wave, the expected level of the overloadonboard of the Sea Spire boat (which apparentlymeans the level of passengers comfort) will beabout1,3g–1,5gwiththespeedlevelof45kmh.

For the gliding speedboat cruising on the 1meter highwave, level of the overloadwill reach 9g,whichiscomparableforthepassengertotheshakingontheextremeamusementride.

Todecreasethelevelofoverloadto1,5gtheglidingspeedboatwillhavetoreducethespeeddownto10-15kmh.Withoutreductionofspeedthesamelevelofonboardcomfortmaybeprovided

bytheglidingspeedboatwiththedisplacementof18tons,length20meters,withthehullofahighdeadrise.Suchavesselwouldrequiretheengineof2000h.p.withthefuelsconsumption250litersperhour.

For the practical analysis of expectedperformanceofthesetwotypesofboatsintermsof fast marine transport services, the existingoperational route line may be taken as theexample(Tallinn–Helsinki,BalticSea(80km).

For the analysis the sea conditions of the waveh3%=1meterarepresumed,sotheboatswillhavetomovewith the different speed to provided theappropriatepassengercomfort.

This routewill be takenbySeaSpire almost fivetimes faster than by the standard glidingspeedboat which provides additional competitiveadvantageonthemarinetransportservicemarket.

Theseoperationaladvantagesallowtoclaimthatthistypeofboatmaybesuccessfullyappliedforthe various transport tasks that require high speed marine vessels: passenger and cargotransportation;searchandrescueonwater;controlandpatrollingofwaterareas.
