SOCIAL MEDIA
On the surface SM are free territory, but the effects practicing
of this freedom are mixed.
Unlimited networking with people
Everybody is a medium
Decentralized system of communication
No Gatekeepers
What are the key variables in this process?
a) Medium is the Message
SM are becoming PR tools downgraded to singular level...
b) New Media still can not replace the role of Classic Media vis-a-vis Public Sphere
New Media predominantly function is extensions of Old Media...
The Old Model of Media Gatekeeping is Gone...
c) “Benevolent” Institutional Regulation
