Great River Educational Arts Theatre (GREAT) creates meaningful experiences for artists and audiences of all ages.

Through dynamic on-stage programming and innovative off-stage educational outreach, we are creating a culturally vibrant community of tomorrow by educating and entertaining audiences today.

We are excited to have you in the audience to experience our high-flying original take on a classic story. A whopping 176 local performers auditioned for roles in Peter Pan. The cast of 55 we chose has worked hard for seven weeks to learn their lines, songs, dances, and characters.

GREAT’s first premiere of our adaptation - created with local musician Scott Wachtler - took

place in 2008 and holds the record as GREAT’s most attended show. Today you will experience our new and improved second draft with added songs and a larger cast of characters to meet GREAT’s mission of providing more acting opportunities for local performers.

Peter Pan is a story that will be re-invented, re-told and re-designed for eternity. I am honored to share with you this work written, designed, created, and loved by a wonderful group of local artists and volunteers. Ready? Set? FLY! -Dennis Whipple
