• I am responsible for my behaviour. If I choose to behave poorly, I must accept the consequences.
• I am responsible for my learning. No one can learn for me.
• I am responsible for treating all persons with respect and consideration.
• I am responsible for contributing positively to my classroom and my school.
• I am responsible for the environment – for keeping it clean and treating it with care because others are entitled to enjoy it as well..
A Whitleyan’s Responsibilities
Whitleyan’s Role in Homework
• Keep track of homework instructions and deadline
• Manage time well to ensure that homework is completed and submitted on time
• Give your best effort in completing homework
• Review feedback from teachers and do necessary correction (if any) on homework submitted
What Parents Can Do
• Create a home environment conducive for studying and completion of homework;
• Reinforce good study habits and attitudes;
• Be aware of your child’s timetable and his after-school activities;
• Help your child prioritise his/her time among these activities; and
• Work in partnership with teachers to support child’s learning and development.
Handphone and Electronic Gadgets
• The school do not encourage the bringing of mobile phone or electronic gadgets that disrupt learning in school.
• If students choose to bring them, they must abide by the following:
– They take full responsibility for their security
– They use them only in the canteen and only during stipulated timings- before school, during recess, and after school.
– Infringement will lead to confiscation of item for 1 month or till the item is claimed by parents, whichever is later. For repeat offenders , duration will be 1 term.
26
Attendance Taking
• If your child/ ward is not in school, you will receive an sms informing you of your child’s absence.
• This is the school’s effort to work closely with parents to ensure that problems, if any, are nipped in the bud.
