Debate encourages students to • read beyond their textbooks,

• think about the issues around them, • collaborate with some team members to discuss

these issues, • engage in friendly debates to see how the other

team members argue their points and • in the process of which acquire some oral skills that

may contribute to their level confidence in speaking in front of an audience.
