2014 was quite a transition year for the beef industry. Finally the cow calf producer is realizing the returns that are required to make livestock a viable part of their Agriculture operation. We hope that you were able to capitalize on the "Charolais Advantage" that saw many producers take home record breaking returns for their Char-cross calves.

This sale offering is filled with breed leading genetics focused on calving ease,

disposition and maternal cow power. Our cowherds have been carefully selected, bred, culled and refined to provide the Charolais bulls that we have in this sale.

We are very excited to see what you think of the first calf crop sired by Pastor, the high selling Charolais bull in Canada in 2013. When we first saw Pastor as a yearling, we were impressed with his performance, tremendous hair coat and his highly productive mother. We purchased him to give us more performance in our program and he has definitely done that! The Pastor calves have more hair than any other sire we have used. The consistency in his calves is impressive as you will see when you go through the pens on sale day. Although we did use him on heifers during his first breeding season and did not have any trouble calving them, we recommend that the Pastor sons be used on mature cows.

Once again the Ginny influence continues to dominate our program as you will find her in the pedigree of over half of the bulls in the sale. We have 4 sons, 6 grandsons and 4 great grandsons on offer.

2014 was an exceptional year for the progeny of Ginny. In our bull sale last February, Ginny was the mother of our 3 high selling bulls. CML Superstition 13Z was our high selling bull going to White Lake Colony, Barons, AB., a 1⁄₂ semen interest in CML Distinction 318A sold to Silver Spur Ranches, Colorado, and CML Maxxam 320A sold to Wrangler Charolais, Westlock, AB.

In the fall of 2014, CML Distinction 318A was a member of our show string and had an impressive campaign. He was Grand Champion Bull at Farmfair International in Edmonton, Reserve Champion Bull at Agribition and was selected as a top 10 finalist in the RBC Supreme Champion All Breeds Show at Agribition. CML Distinction 318A had

some impressive statistics at Agribition. He was the heaviest yearling bull of all breeds weighing in at 2396 lbs with a WPDA of 3.55 lbs/day, 42.5 cm testicles and a 8.5 frame score. We would like to thank Sunrise Charolais, Jim & Susan Baker, Stayner, ON for purchasing 1⁄₂ interest in the Canadian semen rights on Distinction at the Alberta Select Sale in December.

Sired by Merit Vintage 4065P and out of the great Target Pld Ginny 40P, CML Wilma 3S has established herself as an elite female .

She is the dam of CML Diablo 2X and CML Encore 4Y. These are two of the breeds major sires and we believe she has done it again in 2014 with the bulls we have in this sale.

From the first calf crop sired by CML Diablo 2X we were proud to have shown his first two year old daughter PZC TR Desirae 012. She was crowned Grand Champion Female at Olds Fall Classic, Farmfair International, Canadian Western Agribition and was a top 10 finalist in the RBC Agribition Supreme All Breeds Championship.

We also showed another daughter, CML Covergirl 429B. At the Olds Fall Classic she was the Heifer Calf Champion and at Farmfair

International she was crown ACA Heifer Calf Futurity Champion , Champion Legends of the Fall Charolais Heifer Calf and then went on to be Heifer Calf Champion in the Charolais show.

These two full brothers out of Sparrows Sanchez 715T and CML Pld Wilma 3S are just starting to make their mark on the Charolais breed.

In the first calf crop sired by CML Diablo 2X, he produced the Grand Champion Female at Olds Fall Classic, Edmonton Farmfair International and Canadian Western Agribition.

At the 2014 US National Charolais Show held in Kansas City, Diablo sired the Junior Heifer Calf Champion, the Junior Champion Bull, the Senior Champion Bull and Champion Get of Sire.

In 2014 we had the first 8 calves sired by Encore born at our farm. His

only two sons are featured in this sale and the six heifer calves are in our replacement heifer pen. We will have a number of bulls for next year as we have a number of his offspring being born in 2015.

The lot 12 and 13 bulls are full brothers to Encore and Diablo and are bulls that could be used on heifers.

This is the first calf crop sired by CML Encore 14Y and they are impressive. The dam of this bull is Firefly 14T, 2008 Agribition Junior Champion Female and a donor female in our program. We think this bull is an exceptional bull and will be a tremendous addition to any breeding program. At weaning time, he had a WPDA of 4.11 lbs/day. We think enough of him that we are going to keep a semen interest in him.


A heifers first calf sired by Pastor out of a daughter of Prowler that had an impressive 895 lbs weaning weight. The dam of this bull is out of Firefly 14T, a donor cow in our program and the dam of Lot 14.

This is the first calf crop sired by CML Encore 4Y. This calf is a definite herdsire prospect. We have 4 full sisters to this bull out of the same flush that will be cornerstone females for our herd.

Twin. The twin brother to this calf, CML Moonshine 452B, was the 2014 Farmfair Bull Calf Champion. We are keeping him to be a herdsire in our program. If this bull wasn't a half brother to our major herdsire Gerrard Pastor 35Z he would not be leaving the farm. The dam of this bull is our great Starstruck donor female that was the 2007 Agribition Heifer calf champion. She has produced 2 herdsires that were purchased by Hawkview Charolais and another top bull that sold to Lamb Farms.

Full brother to Lot 20. The calves sired by Gerrard Preacher have excellent performance. At weaning time, this bull had a WPDA of 4 lbs/day.

One of the younger calves in the sale but make sure you check him out he is one of the top performing calves in the sale with a WPDA at weaning of 4.1 lbs/day. Look at his EPD's.

After seeing the Laredo sired calves at the Perrot-Martin dispersal we decided he was a bull that we needed to use. The females were clean fronted and maintained a easy doing look and the bulls were early maturing. 569B exhibits lots of length, muscle expression and is smooth made.

2B’s sire JWX Domino, was selected for a walking bull at KAY-R to add muscle mass and shape. Domino is also one of the best footed bulls we have ever owned. He provides a new pedigree for us and maintains the soundness, thickness and easy doing ability that we demand in all our sires. All of these qualities and more are evident in 2B.

Kay-R Leader 803B is bred to be a calving ease specialist. He’s extremely smooth fronted and long bodied. He will calve with ease and yet won’t sacrifice pounds in the fall.

But some of our fondest memories in our life, as funny as this might sound, have come from the time our family has spent preparing and showing some very special animals.
