The Cool Crazy Crickets This week we are learning about chapter books. Some stories take time to tell what happens. A chapter book divides a story into parts or chapters. The chapters may have titles or numbers. Each chapter tells a part of the story. We are also focusing on summarizing each chapter. On Thursday, we will practice reading chapter 4 as a reader’s theater. We will talk about how a script and a book look different. Extra practice reading from a script will help each student to improve that reading fluency. Uses comprehension strategies. Reads fluently. More Place Value We will complete our study of place value with ordering numbers and finding patterns/rules on Friday. After break, we will begin our study of 3 digit addition and subtraction. If your child is still struggling with 2 digit addition and subtraction, please watch for homework and try some extra practice. Try these sites for more practice with place value.
