FAO: Some basic terms and definitions

Food security: exists when all people, at all times, have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food

Undernourishment: describes the status of persons whose food intake regularly provides less than their minimum energy requirements

Hunger targets: are outlined in two main agreements – the World Food Summit Target and the Millennium Development Goals

Cooperation: From R$ 4,5 million in 2003 to R$ 52,5 million in 2010 to R$ 92 million in 2011; focus on agriculture, health and biofuels; Mozambique (15,78%), East Timor (15.16%), and Guinea Bissau (14,43%); and Haiti (13%), from 2005-2010.
