Egghead's strongest quality is his intelligence.  First, he demonstrated this on the first day of school in the gym.  When Shane squished the bug, and Egghead was upset, he was able to explain all different parts of the bug.  This shows intelligence because most people would not be able to name the parts of bugs off the top of their head.  Egghead is also resilient.  He showed this many times in the novel such as all of the times that Shane bullied him, like when there were pink panties on his locker or when Shane wrecked Egghead's science fair and wrapped up his head in tape.  This showed resilience because he kept coming to school and refused to rat out on the bullies.  Finally, Egghead is also lonely.  His dad basically ignores him unless something is wrong. He was close to his mom but she has passed away.  His only friend was Katie, but she dissed him at a dance.  This all contributes to Egghead being lonely.  Egghead has many other character traits, but these three, intelligent, resilient and lonely, help you to get a picture of who Egghead really is.
