Recommendations
Follow the FP7 guidelines (definition of the funding schemes, scope of topics, eligibility rules, etc)
Cover the topic
Be aware of the 3 “evaluation criteria”:
– Scientific and technical quality
– Implementation
– Impact
Describe perspective for the use of results
Address ethical and sensitiveness issues (as early as possible in the workflow)!
Justify the innovative aspects (Incremental vs breakthrough)
Clearly explain/justify the estimated project budget
Within the partnership look for the right expertise, as needed for reaching objectives: … : project to be as small and simple as possible / as large as necessary !
involvement of SMEs and relevant End Users strongly encouraged (as early as possible)!
Present (credibly) the vision of market deployment following the R&D activity
Clearly present the state of the art: check/link with relevant (ongoing or past) research projects
Have your proposal proof-read by a „neutral‟ person
Make the reading of an evaluator easy:
– Use a simple and clear language
– Be short and concise
– Clearly define objectives, milestones and deliverables
– Use tables and graphs, etc
Respect the page limits: proposals must conform to the page limits and layout given in the GfA
… And do not leave the proposal submission to the last minute!
