PROBLEM:- Street Level Drug Deals
- Generates large number of complaints.- Current STING operations have limited effect- Little drugs kept on dealer in case of police contact- Highly visible to public (not Police)- Hard to enforce.

SOLUTION:- Undercover operation started May 2009- Undercover officer known by the name “Erin”- Worked in cooperation with MSHP
- Ensured no cross-investigation and info share- STING Unit focused nearly full time on operation.

STATS:- 31 Defendants sold drugs to undercover officer.
- 28 by STING unit and 3 by MSHP- 9 defendants already in jail due to other STING
investigations.- 73 sales cases were made by the STING Unit.
- Goal was 3 sales cases per defendant.- 38 charges of Sales (or Mafg) within 2000 feet of a school
have been applied for.

STATS:- Types of drugs purchased:
- Marijuana, Crack, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, ecstasy, Morphine, Hash Oil Cake, simulated controlled substance and one case of delivery of drug paraphernalia.
- 5 Vehicle forfeitures have been applied.- 15 of the defendants will have sentencing
enhancements requested in regards to Criminal Street Gang activities.
- 31 arrest warrants have been issued. The total bond of all warrant is $9,195,000.00

END POINT- Today, teams of officers will locate and arrest those
defendants not already in jail.- ID of undercover still withheld for confidential
reasons.- At the end of the day a press release will be available
in regards to located and arrested defendants.- Names of remaining defendants will be released
after evaluating today's activities.
