Millenium Land Development, LLC has applied to install photovoltaic solar panels on a 219.3-acre parcel of land that has been approved previously for a single-fam- ily housing development. Since the industrial project is located in a residential zone, the applicant has requested a use variance to develop the Millenium Solar Power Production System at the site, identified as Block 1301, Lot 1 on the town- ship’s tax map. Freeholder Director Bill Whelan at the board’s July 26 meetings stated a repre- sentative from Verizon visited Cumberland County from Essex County for a week. Jose Louis Castro, 27, of East Cherry Street, is accused of driving the vehicle from which his accomplice, with whom he shares almost the exact name, had alleg- edly fired a gun. The accomplice, 18-year-old Jose Castro is charged with two counts of attempted murder and several other charges and remains in Cumberland County Jail. The two are cousins. Jose L. Castro had been lodged in the county jail since summer 2010 on $350,000 bail. He had been arrested at the Cumber- land County Courthouse after he showed up there on an unrelated matter and charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder. VINELAND — Who ties the knot in the midst of a birthday party?

As Vineland celebrated its 150th anni-versary with community events, Basile and Valella starred in “It’s a Wonderful Life” — the first wedding at the Landis Theater in its current form.

BRIDGETON — A Vineland man charged with conspiracy to commit mur-der in connection to a drive-by shooting last year was released on his own recog-nizance by a Superior Court judge Friday during a bail hearing.
