NO BIBLE STUDY

My dear friends, this fifth Sunday of Easter the gospel brings us a beautiful

image of the relationship within the vine and the branches. A branch by itself will

wither, and finally die. Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever

remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do

nothing.”

This weekend we will have the privilege of having 10 of our youth receiving

the sacrament of Confirmation by our Bishop. It is a great reminder for them, who are

going to stand up in front of our Bishop and the community, and for us who have

received this sacrament, how important is to be attached to the True Vine, who is

Jesus, and to the Church, the Body of Christ, which was established by Jesus upon the

apostles, Peter as the head of the Church (Pope), and the other apostles as leaders

(Bishops)of the local churches (Dioceses), and these laid hands on men to help them as

Priests and Deacons to minister the small communities (Parishes).

As we rejoice celebrating these 10 young members of our parish, let us

welcome Bishop Hoeppner our bishop and rejoice of the unity that we are part of.

May we continue being attach to the Risen Lord who is the True Vine and we know

that without him we are nothing.

Happy Easter, Fr. Raul

PARISH AND COMMUNITY NEWS

Attention Christian Mothers Our annual Spring Business meeting will be held on Sunday, May 6,

following the morning Mass. It will start about 11:15 and last til about

12:30 or until business concludes.

During Mass we will have induction of new members, of which

there are six.

We will offer a continental breakfast of rolls/sweet bread,

fruit , juice and coffee. Please mark your calendars and plan to

attend, so we have good representation to make decisions.

Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated at Mass next weekend. You are invited to

receive the sacrament if you are suffering from a serious illness, old age or you are

facing surgery. A person can receive the sacrament again if, during the same illness,

the person’s condition becomes more serious; or they become ill from another grave

illness; or a person has become weaker from the aging process. The Sacrament of

Anointing of the Sick is also available anytime by appointment with Fr. Raúl.

Your Spring Live Drive with Real

Presence Radio will be May 9 - 11.

Tune in to hear a variety of guests

across the listening area share how

God has been working in their life.

Call 1-877-795-0122 or send your

gifts to PO Box 13703 Grand Forks,

ND 58208.

approach deaconate ordination, your act of

kindness serves as a reminder that the good-

hearted nature of God’s people is flourishing

in our faith communities.
