Generic Mifepristone is a category of medication known as anti-progesterone that shows working action by hindering the progesterone hormone. Progesterone is a type of natural substance necessary for the growth of fetus as it provides nutrients and oxygen to the fetus. The inhibition of this hormone causes the death of cells in the fetus that excretes out.

Misoprostol is a kind of prostaglandin analog works by contracting the uterus muscle thus the cells of fetus dead and excreted out from the uterus.

Misoprostol is marketed in the name of

Cytotec

Mifepristone is marketed in the name

of RU-486, Mifeprex, Korlym, and

Mifegyne.

The combination of Mifepristone and

Misoprostol is marketed as MTP KIT.

In this method of termination you have to

take one Mifepristone pills orally with an

ample amount of water. Then after two days

later take 4 Misoprostol pill you can consume

it via oral and vaginal route (use sterile water

for the vaginal route) 14 days later consult

the doctor for the verification of unwanted

gestation.

You have to take three Mifepristone pills

orally with a full glass of water two days

later go for the verification of termination

of pregnancy. If termination fails then take

two Misoprostol pill orally and vaginally

and again after two days of administration

go for the medical checkup of the

confirmation of termination.

While using this method you have to

take 12 pills in three separated doses

with a gap of 4 to 5 hours between

tow dosages than a couple of days

later consult the doctor for the

confirmation of termination of

unwanted gestation.

This medication can cause some

unwished effects such as tightness in

chest, dizziness, unusual weakness,

allergic reaction, fast heart rhythm,

vaginal discomfort, itching, and heavy

vaginal bleeding. You should talk to the

doctor if your bleeding does not stop or

in the case of severe bleeding.

You should not consume alcohol and any other sedative products along with the medication as these can cause overdose effects and keep yourself away from driving or operating any machine until you feel better.

You should not use the medication in the case of ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the womb) and do not consider the medication if you are less than 18 years.

Before using the medication you must remove the IUD if you are using.
