INTRODUCTION

The Segway PTis a two-wheeled, self-balancing, battery-powered elevehicle invented by Dean Kamen. It is produced by Segway Inc. of NewHampshire, USA. The name Segwayis derived from the word segue,meaning smooth transition.

COMPONENTS USED IN SEGWHEEL

CHASIS

It consists of a wooden riding platform of 25x25 sq. inch.

Handles are made of PVC pipes.

It supports batteries and electronics on upper side and batteries and wunder it.

MOTOR

There are two motors , each for one wheel. Each motor is driven by a12v battery.

CHAIN DRIVE

Chain drives are used to transmit power between motor and wheel. T

BATTERY

Two 12V-DC battery is used in segwheels.

Each battery is connected with each motor.

DPDT SWITCH

Double Pole Double Throw (DPDT) switch.

It is used to guide the direction of rotation of motor shaft.

By operating the switch the direction of vehicle can be controlled.
