Your total electricity price is made up of delivery, supplyand transition charges. The delivery charge is what you payNYSEG to transport electricity to you over our power lines. The supply charge is what you pay for the electricitypurchased on your behalf by NYSEG or an ESCO.

On average, a business customer’s electricity costs can bebroken down as follows:

Your choice primarilyaffects the supply portionof your bill. The deliverycharge is the same foreach choice except forcustomers taking servicefrom an ESCO on theCompetitive SupplierPrice Choice (describedlater in this kit) whichhas a 0.2-cent creditapplied to the deliverycharge monthly.

■ Competitive Supplier Price ChoiceThis choice consists of an ESCO supply charge (whichdepends on the offer you accept from the ESCO you choose)and a variable NYSEG transition charge.

■ NYSEG Fixed Price ChoiceThis choice consists of a fixed NYSEG supply charge and afixed NYSEG transition charge. The fixed supply chargeincludes the cost of electricity plus the cost of procuringelectricity and for managing the risk of providing a fixed price over the two-year period.

■ NYSEG Fixed Price Choice with Supply CreditThis choice is made up of an ESCO supply charge (whichdepends on the offer you accept from the ESCO you choose),fixed NYSEG supply and transition charges plus a variableNYSEG supply credit (a credit on your NYSEG chargesbecause you purchase your supply from an ESCO). Theamount of the credit is based on the market price of electricityeach month.

■ NYSEG Variable Price ChoiceThis choice consists of a variable NYSEG supply charge and a variable NYSEG transition charge. The variable supply and transition charges reflect the changing market cost ofelectricity each month.

These prices below will be in effect January 1, 2005. Use this information to calculate which choice is best for you using theworksheet at the bottom of this page. Be sure to calculate all yourcharges (delivery, supply and transition charges and supply credit ifapplicable) to determine your total electricity cost. Prices are roundedto the nearest one-tenth of a cent and do not include basic servicecharges, demand charge, applicable state and local gross income and sales taxes.

Use the prices above, plus prices you

receive from ESCOs.You can also ask an
