Features

The WBT® is capable of playing back the recorded signals anywhere within the same tuning range without the need for any additional equipment. It can also simultane-ously record and retransmit 25 MHz of received spectrum in real time to a different center frequency, enabling its use as a repeater or down-converter.

The WBT® is physically stackable with other WBTs, to enable simultaneous recording/playback of larger chunks of spectrum. The top unit can remotely control the other WBTs.

Most systems capable of recording and playback involve 3 or more components and numerous interconnects. As well as being much more difficult to carry, the use of all of these components significantly increases the total cost of ownership to the end user.

WBT® has unlimited disk swapping without shutdown: Via the two drive bays, the operator is able to easily insert additional recording media indefinitely to create as much recorded data as needed.

The Wide Band Transcorder® (WBT®) is a fully self-contained RF recording and playback system. With one box it is possible to record 2x25 MHz Blocks of RF spectrum from 50 MHz to 6 GHz. The data is streamed to high-speed SATA solid state drives using an industry standard open format. The data can later be used for playback into other devices, or for direct analysis.

Reference Signal Recording and Playback Signal Analysis Market Penetration Interference Analysis Training Receiver Test and Design Security Competitive Analysis Spectrum Allocation Repeater

Applications*

GPS Disciplined Oscillator

The WBT contains an embedded GPS disciplined oscillator (GPSDO) which provides a precise 10 MHz timing reference (25 ppb over temperature range using an OCXO). It also generates 1PPS signals with +/- 50 nanosecond accuracy. The 50-channel GPS receiver has acquisition sensitivity of -144 dBm and tracking sensitivity of -160 dBm.

Disks

The WBT® is designed to handle two disks at a time so a new one can be swapped in when one is full. Recording time is therefore limited only by the number of disks available.

Interfaces

A Gigabit Ethernet port is provided to control multiple WBTs, to transfer data from the SSDs over a network share, and to stream data directly to another device (at greatly reduced bandwidth).

The interface supports both DHCP and static network configuration.

An eSATAp (powered eSATA) port is provided to connect high speed disks directly to the device. Data may be recorded directly onto the device, though maximum bandwidth may be reduced depending on disk performance.

Boot Flash Card

The WBT® boots from a removable CFAST flash card. This provides a way to completely disable the unit by ejecting the card.
