    Self Efficacy General Instructions

    PLEASE FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY!

    1. Float the survey instrument on the assigned respondents to your group (Pls see Sir E. Garcia).

    2. Make sure that all responses should be answered as it will affect the final answer if there are

    blanks. Double check it. Make sure that the respondents DO NOT COPY their answers from

    each other as their answers are PERSONAL.

    3. After collecting the survey instruments, identify the negatively stated statements.

    4. The highlighted numbers are the negatively stated entries.

    1. When I make plans, I am certain I can make them work.

    2. One of my problems is that I cannot get down to work when I

    should.

    3. If I cant do a job the first time, I keep trying until I can.

    4. Hereditary plays the major role in determining ones personality.

    initially successful.

    15. When I am trying to become friends with someone who seems

    uninterested at first, I dont give up easily.

    16. When unexpected problems occur, I dont handle them well.

    17. I avoid trying to learn new things when they look too difficult to

    me.

    18. Failure makes me try harder.

    19. I do not handle myself well in social gatherings.

    20. I feel insecure about my ability to do things.

    21. I am a self-reliant person.

    22. I have acquired my friends through my personal abilities at

    making friends.

    up in my life.

    5. Then recode your data via Microsoft excel with the following format. The Excel file was sent as

    well on your group page. Make sure all headers/column title are less than 7 characters for easy

    importing on SPSS.

    6. On sheet one, encode all details of the survey form. One respondent, one row.

    7. Encode the name then the age, year level, section as is.

    8. For the gender, use dummy variable. For male respondents input the number 0. For female

    respondents input the number 1.

    9. For economic status, poor=1, middle= 2, rich= 3.

    10.For awards for both elementary and high school, encode 1= with awards and 0= without awards.

    11.

    For the response on the survey, encode A= 1, B= 2, C=3, D= 4 and E= 5.12.After encoding all your data, copy sheet one and rename it as sheet number 2.

    13.

    Now you are on sheet number 2. Highlight all the negatively stated numbers.

    14.For the negatively stated entries such as numbers 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11 etcchange the values of its

    answers. For answers 5 make it 1, for 4 make it 2, for 3 retain it. For 2 make it 4 and for 1 change

    it to 5.

    15.After changing the values of the negative statements, now get the sum of all the responses. The

    formula is shown at the upper left part of the excel sheet 2.

    16.Now you already computed for the sum, copy column AH. Then paste it again on column AH but

    values only. Use paste special values only.

    17.After treating your data, now its time to import it to SPSS. Open your SPSS.

    18.Choose sheet 2 then press continue.

    19.The file should look this way with complete entries on it. Save your file first.

    20.Now go to variable view. And complete the label.

    21.Label the Gender under values column..

    24.Now you are ready to treat your data with different statistical tool based on the statement of the

    problem.

    25. After treating your data, analyze it and encode your manuscript. Good luck. The manuscript is to

    be passed next week font 12, times new roman 1.5 spacing. 8 1/2 x 11 bond paper with complete

    parts, similar to your investigatory project paper.

    26.Support your results with online pdf references. Cite these references using the correct MLA or

    APA format.
