Choosing your product or service
How easy is it to get customers for the product or service you want to sell?
get a product/service that people are hungry for
go for things that people will want over and over
choose a product that a lot of people will consume
Matt's answer to that is: coffee. But there are many other products like that out there.
It's interesting how he starts the business from the customer, the market demand, instead of starting with an idea, and then trying to find a market for it.
Ways to create wealth
Ways to make money:
trade your time for money (regular 9-5 job, the way 95% of people make money)
use other people's effort (have a business and make money from your staff's work)
other people's money (use the bank's money for seed capital)
use other people's idea (tap into what other people are doing: reseller, franchise, etc)
I agree with him. It's amazing how the “time for money” exchange is so ingrained in our definition of making a living.
self employed = no benefits?
There's great benefits programs for the self-employed:
benecaid sonata health
There is also a new Employment Insurance for the self-employed program from the government.
