Introduction – What is changing and how will you login?
When you boot your laptop, you will see multiple tiles onyour screen, due to recent changes that have been done tothe system to introduce multi-factor authentication.
This shall help keep your device and data secure, while givingyou seamless options to authenticate yourself.
Let’s introduce these additional tiles to you! Click them to know more.
User name and password :This is your standard username and password tile.
Biometric login:This tile will help you login using your biometrics (registered fingerprint).
OTP login:This will help you login using OTP (One Time Password) using ‘RIL Authenticator’ mobile application

How to enroll for these new features on your laptop
On the enrolment wizard, Click on ‘Biometric User Registration’.

Click on Biometric logon tile and click on the FINGERPRINTAND OTP ENROLLMENT link. You should be connected toRIL corporate LAN or Wi-Fi for starting the enrolment.
Biometric Enrollment – Know your fingerprint sensor
Swipe-based capacitive sensor
These sensors will be in-built in your laptops. For a smooth experience:• Swipe gently from top to bottom without putting
too much pressure on the sensor.• Cover entire sensor area while swiping.• Swipe slowly to ensure that the fingerprint is
captured properly.
External fingerprint sensor
These sensors will be externally connected to your desktops. For a smooth experience:• Cover entire sensor area while swiping.• Do not press too hard on the sensor.
Biometric Enrollment – Self service
Read the Privacy Policy and click on ‘I Agree’.

Enter your Domain user ID and click on Next.

Click on ’Fingerprint Enrollment’ to start the enrollment process.

Please note:1. Swipe gently covering the entire sensor area and do not put
too much pressure on fingerprint sensor.2. Swipe multiple times as directed on the screen. The system
takes 2 swipes to register each finger.

Enrol any of your 2 fingers. Select your first finger to enrol and click on ‘Enrol’.

Keep enrolling each of your fingers, the status tells you once each finger enrolment is completed. Refer the images below:

Congratulations. You have now successfully enrolled for fingerprint enrollment. Now, click on the Mobile App OTP option to enroll for OTP.

Once enrolment is complete for 2 fingers, click on Submit.

To get the RIL Authenticator app link on your smartphone as an SMS, enter your mobile number to proceed. Then, click on send message.
You will receive the app link as SMS on the mobile number provided.

Select the Windows_Authentication token to configure your token and click on Next
To get QR code, Swipe your registered finger on either in-built laptop sensor or place it on external USB sensor.
Enrollment complete – You’re all set!
Open RIL Authenticator mobile application and click on ‘I Agree’.
Click on ‘Register’ to register mobile.

You will be able to login seamlessly. Select the Biometric tile (login by fingerprint) and press Enter or click the arrow icon as shown in the image. Swipe your pre-enrolled finger on the biometric sensor.

Login using OTPBack
Open ‘RIL Authenticator’ mobile application , you will see the OTP which will be used for login. OTP gets regenerated after 30 seconds. This is available even if your laptop or phone is offline.
Type-in the OTP from the mobile application and press Enter or click the arrow icon as shown in the image.

How to change your RIL Domain password?
Press Alt+Ctrl+Del and select Change a password.
Enter your new password and click on the arrow and provide enrolled fingerprint.
You will successfully login into system. The updated password shall now be linked to your fingerprint for online and offline authentication.
Remember: Use your last used finger to authenticate in offline mode (in case of laptop not connected to any network)

Frequently asked questions
1. How do I enroll myself? Please follow the steps in this guide to enroll yourself. It
takes less than 5 minutes to do so. In case of any queries, please contact GetIT.
2. I am unable to enroll myself. What should I do? Please contact GetIT (Extn:
52121 or 4357,Email: [email protected]) if you need any assistance, or if you are facing
any issues for enrolment and usage of the Biometric solution.
3.What if my password is not accepted in Enrolment Wizard? You may be typing a
wrong password. Please check it again. If it still happens, get your password reset
from GetIT Portal.
4. What will happen if I do not enroll for biometric access? Very soon, you will not
be able to log into your official laptop or desktop without biometric enrolment.
5.What if the biometric sensor is not capturing fingerprints? Try by cleaning your
sensor. If this doesn’t work, get the sensor checked with the local IT support team.
6. How to get fingerprint authentication option (same applies for OTP )? Once you
have logged into your system, Press Windows L to lock -> Alt+Ctrl+Del -> Other
credentials and choose the required method of login.
7.How many fingers do I need to enrol? While enrollment process, you can enroll
two fingers only. You can add all fingers (including the two that have been already
registered before) subsequently.
8.What if the QR code is not captured by my phone camera? Try focusing your
phone camera. Also make sure the lens is clean. You can also try restarting the
phone. If the problem still persists, get your phone checked.
9. What if the OTP is not accepted on my login screen? As the OTP is time based, it
may have expired. Kindly generate the OTP again and enter in your system.
10. Can I use all the fingerprints outside the RIL network? When outside RIL
network, you will be able to login with the finger(s) which you had used during the
previous login as it is saved in the local cache memory.
11. Will the OTP work outside RIL network? OTP can be used outside the RIL
network and even in offline mode.
12.How to add new fingerprints? Go to enrollment wizard, click on “Fingerprint
Enrolment”. There you can add all your fingers (including the two that have been
already registered before).
