Self-Help Homes is Currently Accepting

Applications for MSH Homes in

Elk Ridge, Santaquin and Heber Cities

Crestview

Estates

Elk Ridge

Self-Help Homes (SHH) is currently accepting applications from families that are interested in

building their own home through the Mutual Self-Help Program. SHH has recently purchased

72 lots in three different subdivisions. Two of the subdivisions, Crestview Estates and

Elk Ridge Meadows, are located in the beautiful foothills of the scenic community of Elk

Ridge. This quiet community offers spectacular views of the valley and surrounding mountains,

wonderful neighbors, some of the best schools in the state, a safe environment for your family

and a place to call home. Another subdivision where we have purchased new lots is Majestic

Mountain Acres in Heber City. These lots have a dramatic view of Mount Timpanogos and are

located close to schools, shopping, and all the outdoor activities that come with living in the

Heber Valley! We also have eight lots in the Morley Meadows Subdivision in Santaquin. If

you are interested in living in any of these great subdivisions, please contact us as soon as

possible. We are planning to start groups in these areas very soon.

Special thanks to our wonderful partners

continued support is very much appreciated!

THANK YOU!

In celebration of being in their

new Mutual Self-Help (MSH) home

for one year, the Adam & Chiara West

family wanted to show their

appreciation to the funders and

others who helped them attain

their dream of home ownership.

With huge smiles on their faces, the

West Family posed in front of their

beautiful MSH home that was built in

the Winegar Estates Subdivision in

Payson, Utah. They built their home

along with eight other families and

contributed more than 1300 hours to

build the nine homes in their group.

Congratulations, West Family!

A beautiful lawn adds value to your property. Over time, all areas of the

lawn experience some compaction. Heavy traffic areas have greater soil

compaction, which makes it difficult for roots to breathe or get water and

nutrients.. Aerating in spring and fall, yearly, will allow you to water less

often and for shorter periods of time so your water bill will be lower.

The best aeration is done with a power aerator that removes cores of sod.

They are available at hardware and equipment rental shops, but you can

hire a professional for not much more. Be sure to water your lawn heavily

the night before to make sure the ground is soft but not muddy. Aerate

heavy traffic areas in two directions.

The cores contain micro organisms that will help to break down thatch in

your lawn so leave them on the ground to break down or be broken up with

your next mowing. Fertilize a week or two after the aeration to boost grass

growth and keep weeds down.
