Objective

You will create a self portrait collage that communicates a theme of your choosing using photoshop techniques taught in class.

Your collage will include...A self portrait3 or more layered photographs Texture/ pattern

Things to consider:❏ Using a timer

❏ The “typical selfie”

❏ Become an artistic director

IMAGES AND EDITINGShoot 40 images (minimum) of objects, places, people, textures, and patterns that are personal to you and fit under your chosen theme. YOU MUST PHOTOGRAPH:10 self portraits10 objects10 places- outdoors/ indoors10 textures/ patternsChoose the images that you will be adding to the collage composition

IMAGES & EDITING: Your final collage should include:1) A self portrait2) 3 or more layered photographs3) Texture or pattern

Once you have chosen the required images from the series of 40 that you shoot for this assignment, you may add additional personal photos.

SKETCHBOOK:Concept map to plan your photos/ collage:Start with a themeBrainstorm 5 possible themes-

-interests: things you like to do or places you like to be (sports, music, nature, a compilation)

-memory: a significant event, memorable moment in time (a vacation, an award, an event you attended such as a concert)

-experience: “my life as a….”

Choose 2 themes to start your concept mapping:For each concept map list a minimum of 5 ideas from each of the following categories: 1. Objects2. People/ places3. Textures/ patterns4. Portrait ideas

**Think about where the photo will be taken, POV, poses, expressions, props
