The uniqueness of San Marco saddles stands out for details. The attention to the smallest details, that derives from the care of a handmade item and from the severe quality controls, gives to all of our models the guarantee of excellence. However not only details make the difference. Technological innovation and continuous research on the materials are a priority of the San Marco mission, that aims to create high performance products.

The experience acquired over the years is such to allow the maximum knowledge of the characteristics and the performances of the materials. This lets to exploit at best their peculiarities with excellent results in terms of quality, use and performance.

The excellence of every aspect of a San Marco saddle is the result of a series of accurate mechanical and laboratory tests, that are done in order to control the raw materials and to guarantee the quality of the product.All the materials are processed to simulate the real ways to use the product, with the possibility to test them up to the limit of the conditions of use. In that way you can evaluate the various reactions and get also the certification of the saddles. Once the saddles have overcome the tests of laboratory, they must be processed to a further test, that on the field. Every model is indeed tested by San Marco tester

Innovazione tecnologica e ricerca continua sui materiali rappresentano una priorità nella mission di San Marco, che mira a creare prodotti altamente performanti.

L’esperienza acquisita nel corso degli anni è tale da consentire la massima conoscenza delle caratteristiche e delle performance delle materie utilizzate. Questo permette

di sfruttare al meglio le loro peculiarità con risultati eccellenti in termini di qualità, utilizzo e rendimento. L’eccellenza espressa sotto ogni punto di vista da una sella San Marco è il risultato di una serie di accurati test meccanici e di laboratorio mirati al controllo delle materie prime e a garantire la qualità del prodotto. Tutti i materiali vengono sottoposti a vari procedimenti che simulano quelle che saranno poi le modalità d’uso reali del prodotto, con la possibilità di testarli fino al limite delle condizioni d’utilizzo, valutando così le varie reazioni e ottenere poi la certificazione delle selle. Superati i test di laboratorio, le selle devono rispondere ad un’ulteriore prova, quella sul campo. Ogni modello viene infatti provato dai tester San Marco che percorrono migliaia di km. Fondamentale in questo caso è la stretta collaborazione con gli atleti professionisti che per primi provano i prodotti che poi verranno diffusi sul mercato.

Dai test e dalla ricerca continua sono nati brevetti all’avanguardia, come il rivoluzionario noshuffle che per la prima volta nella storia delle selle permette di poter utilizzare completamente la punta come superficie d’appoggio ed evitare lo sfregamento delle cosce o l’Arrowhead System, esempio di come San Marco sia sempre attenta anche negli studi della conformazione anatomica dei ciclisti per migliorare comfort e prestazioni.

Not only road, but also off-road. San Marco items before being sold are tested by athletes of all the disciplines. Off-road teams such as Tx Active-Bianchi, Milka-Trek and champion as Cedric Gracia ride indeed with our saddles.

It is the mythical cycling international marathon dedicated to the memory of the legendary Fausto Coppi. A Mythical and Unique “Granfondo” with the highest diffe-rence in altitude of Europe (4500 m) and historical mountain roads to climb.

An event that reminds the cycling of times gone by, the one beloved by an historical firm as San Marco, born in 1935 and grown up with the cycling made of toil and great heroes as the “Campionissimo”, when with a San Marco saddle he became a myth for his legendary performances.

The “La Fausto Coppi” will be one of the most important event for San Marco during the next years: a perfect occasion to show in preview the models of the new collection.

LA VACAMORA - CICLOTURISTICAIs an original no-competitive cycling race for old bicycle. The event presents a very suggestive path among the old mountain railways, today unused. Riding again these old cog railways, where during the eighteenth century and at the beginning of the nineteenth century the only mean of transportation was the choo-choo train (called “Vaca Mora”), you can breath still nowadays the charme of that age through galleries and flyovers, that cross torrents and woods of the Valdastico.

This system enables to increase the rigidity of the rail, avoiding useless spin and torsion of the saddle, without compromise the comfort during the performance.

The crossing X shape knot (Dynamic Node Action) is the point where all the forces concentrate. Localize the forces enables to create an additional support only in a well-defined area of the rails and in this way you can also contain the weight.

This category of saddles has been designed thinking of riders that make an extreme use of the products both because of the many hours on bike and because of the stress of off-road rides.

To better endure those kind of uses, San Marco studied some technical devices that help to increase the resistance of the product and its capacity to withstand to wear and tear.

To this purpose, silicone supports have been added on the sides, where it is higher the possibility that the saddle deteriorate because of the friction or the lean on it.

Suggested for the off-road, this saddle is suitable also for road rides. The PROTEK includes three models of saddle: the CONCOR, the ASPIDE and the SPID.

Questa serie di selle è pensata per chi sottopone il prodotto a sforzi estremi sia per numero di ore trascorse in bicicletta, sia per le sollecitazioni, per esempio, di percorsi fuoristrada.

Per sopportare meglio utilizzi di questo tipo, San Marco ha messo a punto una serie di accorgimenti tecnici, progettati per aumentare la tenuta del prodotto e la sua resistenza all’usura.

CONCOR SUPERCORSAThe first saddle in the world with a Bio-Anatomical shape is born. Its name is Concor and because of its revolutionary shape, this model was an epoch-making turning-point in the production of bicycle saddles.

CONCOR LIGHTFirst Evolution. The Concor Light version with titanium rail and then also carbon rail - that american megazines said to be “super seats” of the year 1993. Legendary victories have been taken with this model: the glorious successes of Armstrong, Bettini and Millar.

CONCOR CARBON FXThe legend goes on. CONCOR. An icon. Now much lighter. Keeping all the skills of the previous versions it considerably gains lightness, thanks to the use of innovative materials.

THE MOST REVOLUTIONARYWAVED SURFACE

CONCOR

No saddle is legendary as it, the CONCOR. Revolution of the cycling in the ‘80s, it took the greatest riders to the victories in the World Championships, Grand Tour and Classic races, sharing the triumph of champions like Hinault, Saronni, Armstrong and Bettini. No saddle became a myth as the CONCOR with a world success.

Now the legend goes on. CONCOR. An icon. Now much lighter. San Marco revamps the CONCOR, presenting the evolution of the historical model. The new saddle keeps all the skills of the previous versions (the Concor Light and the Concor Supercorsa), but it considerably gains lightness, thanks to the use of innovative materials.

In particular minor ergonomics devices has been studied to make it more suitable for the geometry of current bicycles and for the way we ride nowadays.

It is a “waved” saddle, not flat, so it retains the traditional rounded profile and raised tail, but adds a wider nose for more comfort when on the rivet. A flat nose where you can really push. The new Concor has a simple but distinctive design, that fits every style of bike.

Rivoluzione del ciclismo negli Anni Ottanta, ha accompagnato i più forti ciclisti verso la conquista di Campionati del Mondo, Grandi Giri e Classicissime, portando in trionfo campioni come Hinault, Saronni, Armstrong e Bettini. Nessuna sella è stata capace di diventare un mito quanto la CONCOR, ottenendo un successo mondiale.

Ed oggi il mito continua. CONCOR. Un’icona. Adesso ancora più leggera. Selle San Marco rinnova la CONCOR, riproponendo l’evoluzione dello storico modello. La nuova sella, riprogettata, mantiene tutti gli skill delle versioni precedenti (la Concor Light e la Concor Supercorsa), ma guadagna notevolmente in leggerezza, grazie all’utilizzo di materiali innovativi.

Per adeguarla alle geometrie delle biciclette attuali ed al modo di andare in bici di oggi sono stati adottati in particolare lievi accorgimenti ergonomici.

Si tratta di una sella “waved”, presenta quindi una linea sinuosa, non piatta, con una leggera impennata nella parte posteriore. Il naso è più largo rispetto al passato ed è piatto, consentendo di spingere al massimo anche in punta di sella ed aumentando inoltre il comfort della seduta. Il design è semplice, ma distintivo e le permette di adattarsi perfettamente ad ogni bici.

Innovative materials and technologies have been taken to fulfil the main purpose: make the saddle much lighter.In addition to this on the CFX version there are important newness concerning the skill of the carbon DNA rail. It shows indeed a distintive “X” shape, a crossing point where all the strains concentrate with the result to increase the rigidity. Thanks to the four insertion points and the five points of support – that you don’t find in the other current rails – you can besides avoid spin and torsion. Also the load distribution and the push transmission are better. In this way the shell and the rail become one body.

Usata dai nostri top rider nelle competizioni di cross country, la Nuova Concor è apprezzata per la sua seduta Waved che aiuta gli atleti durante le spinte in salita.

Per rispondere all’esigenza primaria di alleggerire il prodotto, sono stati utilizzati materiali innovativi. Sulla versione CFX sono state introdotte grandi novità sulla tecnica del telaio in carbonio DNA, che mostra un’innovativa forma a “X” allo scopo di irrigidirlo ulteriormente; inoltre presenta quattro punti di inserimento e cinque di appoggio rispetto a tutti gli altri telai in commercio, con il vantaggio di permettere alla sella una maggiore stabilità nel tempo e di evitare durante la pedalata la torsione della sella, aumentando quindi la performance in watt. Zoncolan is one of the climb that had made the history of cycling. Extreme slopes, as the outstanding performance guaranteed by this model, that has been created for races and for riders that are looking for a top-level product, like Filippo Pozzato, who has chosen it for the high technology and the great aesthetic appeal.

Lightness and high-performance, thanks to the nylon and carbon fiber shell, that allows to obtain a light and very resistant product because of its structural characteristics.

Aggressive uphill and perfect also downhill. The Zoncolan stands out for its shape: the distinctive nose makes it unique.

Not only a detail that makes it aesthetically nice: this design aims to the research of comfort.In correspondence to the front part there is indeed a bigger support, that allows to have more comfort when you push on the pedals on the saddle’s point.

Besides, thanks to the noshuffle system and then to the particular inclination of the saddle end profile, the rubbing on the adductor muscles of thighs has been reduced, with consequent relief during riding.

A revolutionary patent that enables the point of the saddle to be used completely as a support surface and therefore to distribute the loads in the best way, obtaining also more thrust and increasing control of the bike in bend.

Leggera e performante, grazie allo scafo in nylon e fibra di carbonio che in virtù delle sue proprietà strutturali consente di ottenere un prodotto dal peso ridotto e dalla grande resistenza.

Aggressiva in salita e perfetta anche in discesa. La Zoncolan si distingue per la forma, resa unica dalla caratteristica punta.

Non solo un dettaglio che la rende bella esteticamente: la finalità del design è infatti la ricerca del comfort. In corrispondenza dell’estremità anteriore si ritrova infatti un sostegno maggiore, che permette di essere più comodi nella pedalata in punta di sella.

Inoltre, grazie al sistema noshuffle e quindi alla particolare inclinazione del profilo della punta, si è ridotto lo sfregamento dei muscoli adduttori delle cosce, con conseguente sollievo durante la pedalata.

Un brevetto rivoluzionario che permette di utilizzare completamente la punta della sella come superficie d’appoggio e quindi di distribuire i carichi in maniera ottimale, avere più spinta ed aumentare il controllo della bici in curva.

Per le sfide contro il tempo e per gli sforzi più estremi dei triatleti, San Marco propone anche per il 2012 il modello ASPIDE Triathlon sia nella versione con telaio CARBON FX sia XSILITE.

Un’ampia possibilità di scelta per soddisfare ogni esigenza: la versione CARBON FX presenta un telaio interamente realizzato in fibra di carbonio con sezione variabile per sfruttare pienamente le caratteristiche di questo eccezionale materiale.

Oltre al carbonio, internamente la forchetta è dotata di una microstruttura metallica ultraleggera che garantisce un aumento della resistenza del telaio nella sua zona più critica, ossia il fissaggio del reggisella. La versione XSILITE è realizzata invece con un materiale più leggero e resistente del titanio, in quanto contiene un’alta percentuale di silicio, unito a particelle di carbonio e titanio. Quest’unione consente di ottenere un materiale con un’alta tenacità statica, resistente come il titanio, ma più leggero.

Bar tape specifico per il reparto corse, nastro manubrio realizzato in microfeel, materiale traspirante e ad alta resistenza abrasiva, la cui composizione rispetta gli standard di bio-compatibilità. E’ disponibile in due versioni di colore abbinabili a selle bianche o nere. Il bar tape bianco presenta grafica nera con il logo di San Marco stampato allover, viceversa quello di color nero ha la stessa grafica in bianco.

The San Marco Racing Team clothing dresses the rider from head to feet: jerseys and shorts with coordinated arm warmers and leggings (summer/winter), the useful winter racing jacket, the practical hood-neck warmer, usable also as band-hat and the socks, that if necessary can turn into cover-shoes.

La linea d’abbigliamento San Marco veste il corridore dalla testa ai piedi: maglia e pantaloncini con manicotti e gambali coordinati anche nella versione invernale, l’utilissimo giubbino per le giornate più fredde, il pratico scaldacollo, utilizzabile anche come fascia-cappellino ed i calzini, che all’occorrenza si trasformano in copri-scarpe.

This Bar tape has been specifically studied for racing. It is made of microfeel, a breathable and hard wearing material, whose composition respects the standards of biocompatibility. There are two colour versions that can be matched with black or white saddles. The white bar tape has black graphics with San Marco logo allover printed, viceversa the black one has the same graphics but white.
