Dear Friends,Welcome to the 4th American Black Hereford Association's "NATIONAL BLACK HEREFORD HEIFER SALE". This breed

has made significant strides this year in expanding its membership; we now have members of the organization in 32 states.The membership number has nearly doubled since 2013 and, with the start of a National Junior Black Hereford Association,even greater gains will be made in the future.

The heifers in this sale have been selected from the top of the herds from which they came. As was the case last year,many are in the sale only because the consignors wanted to offer the best in their herds in an effort to expand the BlackHereford base to more cattle breeders. Our breeders are having trouble fulfilling requests from interested buyers. Rather anice problem to have! Three breeders have also sold Black Hereford cattle into Mexico this year!

The Black Hereford breed demonstrates improvement with each generation as its breeders continue to cull their herds,retaining only cattle with better performance while at the same time having the added benefit of the docility of the Herefordbreed. Black Hereford breeders are seeking cattle with maternal performance with sound udders along with their search forcarcass quality. Our motto is “Color You Can Count On”; it is a proven fact that "black hided" cattle are worth from $5 to $15per hundred more than red hided cattle. Black Herefords will provide more dollars per pound!

Terms:1. All sale cattle are registered in the ABHA. All purchases include registration papers and transfers.2. All open heifers have been weaned and vaccinated at least 45 days prior to the sale.3. All bred heifers have been preg checked at home by the seller and are vet verified bred. 4. All representations and guarantees are those made by the seller and not the responsibility of the ABHA. 5. Open Heifer - Consigned by Deters Black Herefords - 72% HB, actual BWonly 64 lbs., first calf from Ms Movin ON 102, who is also the daughter of 9406,the $8,000 herd sire from 2010 sale. She’s young and small, but should havegood growth given time.

Open Heifer - Consigned by Deters Black Herefords-77% HB, actual BW of60 lbs. The only grand daughter we have from sire Iron Travis, son of Balder6432, (Travis), who sold for $4,500 in 2007 at the J&N sale. She is a first calffrom Rockette 2538, a very docile cow, bloodline from our original cow bought in2005; from her we have sold several as herd bulls and females. A good family.

Bred Red Heifer - Consigned by dL Cattle Company - Here is a red heifer with theHereford look that should put the mark on her calves. She is 78% by our 129 bull & outof a 4963 daughter. This heifer is long & deep with lots of eye appeal. She is pastureexposed to our homozygous, JO Bull Classic Felt from 3/30 to 7/31, so she is going tohave a black calf for whoever her lucky owner should be.

Bred Heifer - Consigned by dL Cattle Co. - Nice 78% Black Hereford heifer out ofour 129 herd bull; she produced great cattle but is no longer with us so no more ofthese nice heifers. This heifer’s mother is by our 4963 herd bull & out of a 20X daugh-ter. She is smaller framed, but still has the confirmation of a long deep bodied broodcow. Pigment in both eyes. Pasture exposed to homo. JO Bull Classic Felt 3/30 to 7/31.

Bred Heifer - Consigned by dL Cattle Company - Purebred heifer from our 129 herdbull. 129 is son of J&N’s 7108 bull that has produced some great cattle for us; this isone of them. Her mother is a Star Lake bred cow that is a Battle Ground daughter trac-ing back to Pringle 20X & C-S Pure Gold. Pigment in both eyes. She is long & deepbodied. Pasture exposed to homozygous JO Bull Classic Felt 3017 from 3/30 to 7/31.

She was exposed in the latter part of April & all of May; sonogrammedpositive in Aug. as 3 months bred. I would suspect she is due in February or earlyMarch.

Bobby hadshowed the cow when she was a heifer and done very well with her. With the geneticsof this heifer, she shouldn't be leaving the ranch, but we are offering her in this sale.We are retaining one flush from her at the buyer’s convenience and seller’s cost.
