Structural Equation Modeling
What is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) ?
SEM is a regression analysis for measuring the relations among variables
SEM provides analysis of
Confirmatory Factor Analysis
Structural Model

Structural Equation Modeling
1. What is a model, and how can one be built?
A model is a representation of a theory.
Theory is a systematic set of relationships.

2. How is factor analysis incorporated into the model?

Structural Equation Modeling
3. How are the results of a full meauserement and structural model?

Structural Equation Modeling
4. How can what has been learned be used to interpret actual research results ?

5. How is SEM used in causel inference?
![Page 13: SEM PPT](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061108/544db226af7959f3138b5005/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Structural Equation Modeling
LET’S DO TOGETHER TO SEE A REAL EXAMPLE... Generally, master thesis consists of 5 chapters
Chapter I: Introduction
Chapter II: Literature Review
Chapter III: Research Methodology
Chapter IV: Result
Chapter V: Discussion and Conclusions
![Page 14: SEM PPT](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061108/544db226af7959f3138b5005/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Structural Equation Modeling
1. Choosing a study topic... Explorotary or ? We can find the topic in Journal papers (generally, inside of future study directions or e.g., conclusions, or limitations) Asia University, Library website for example: www.proquest.com or www.googlescholar.com
2. We need to determine objective...
3. We need to develope hypotheses... (e.g., literature review)
4. Methodology... (quantitative, qualitatitve) if quantitative which method e.g. SEM?
5. Interpration of the result for conclsions and implications...
![Page 15: SEM PPT](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061108/544db226af7959f3138b5005/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Structural Equation Modeling
For example,
1.We chosed a topic which we really like. We are doing a study on tourism destination brand equity.
2.Our objective is to provide a new tourism destination brand equity conceptual model in marketing literature.
3.We have already reviewed the literature and developed our hypotheses.
4.We have 5 constructs (e.g., variables or called latent variables in SEM).
5.We have found that SEM is the best way and provide us powerful analysis technique. Because SEM provides us to see the relationship of all 5 constructs.

Structural Equation Modeling
We will be conducting confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural model...
CFA is to see measurement variables are systematic and logical ?
Structural model is to see set of one or more dependence relationships linking the hypothesized model’s constructs...
LETS DO IT... together
